🇧🇷This underrated city surprised me! 👀 If you’re heading to Iguazu Falls chances are you’ll have a connection through São Paulo (the financial capital of Brazil) so here are some of the TOP things to do for your visit👇
First off - I heard a lot of bad things about this city before visiting but was blown away by how opposite it felt - if you stick to the tourist areas (like any major city) you’ll feel totally safe.
✨SAVE this for your next visit!
DID YOU KNOW: Brazil has the second largest population of Japanese outside of Japan?
🇧🇷 Try unique Japanese food in the Liberdade neighborhood. I didn’t visit here but I know many tourists like to visit.
🇧🇷Stunning churches: I really enjoyed Paroquia Nossa Senhora do Brasil, located in the upscale neighborhood of Jardin
👉Just be sure to keep your phone in your purse in certain neighborhoods like around São Paulo Cathedral in the historic center.
🇧🇷Batman Alley (Beco do Batman) is a tourist favorite with vibrant street art, located in a safe area. I felt completely comfortable here.
🇧🇷Avenida Paulista: this is a high end street with a lot of live music, museums & shops. I felt completely safe here.
👉PS on Sundays the road closes to cars and becomes pedestrian only!
🇧🇷 Ibirapuera Park is the “Central Park” of São Paulo, located in a safe area. Enjoy biking or a picnic!
🇧🇷 Try different foods - it’s a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture - and boy was it good!! I especially loved the cheese bread, Brazilian bbq and chocolate 😉
👉One of the best places to try snacks is at Mercado Municipal de São Paulo
🇧🇷Museum of Art São Paulo (MASP) is Latin America’s most important museum with famous artwork from Monet to Rembrandt to Van Gogh to Latin artists.
🇧🇷With so many skyscrapers a rooftop bar is a must! Popular ones include Skye, Seen - Restaurant & Bar and Terraco Italia
