Just now in Rangeley, Maine… ☀️✨🍁

As https://www.maine.gov/dacf/mfs/projects/fall_foliage/report/index.shtml says - “western mountain areas are passing their peak….” but this is what that looks just now like! 💛🍁🍂✨🧡 Foliage was earlier than usual this year anddd the upcoming holiday weekend is about as late as it can be so our peak foliage isn’t lining up like it usually does. 😕 So sorry about that for many of you folks BUT ~ there’s still beauty and fun to be had! Come enjoy!!! There’s always something memorable to find and do in the RLRofMaine. Let us know if we can help!

Ohhhhh, we have fun!!!

We thought it’d be low water and we thought it would be past peak - or at least significant leaf drop with all that recent strong winds - but nope! pretty okay!!!! 😊 The mighty, gorgeous, ever-changing Magalloway River - where fishing legends are made!!! ❤️ …..and where the rest of us get to enjoy the beauty of this remarkable land in ALL four seasons thanks to the efforts of the Rangeley Lake Heritage Trust ( ) What a gem of our region!

Always a thrill….!!!
This is just before sunset so the light was low. We were returning from an aMaZiNg afternoon on the Magalloway River (more on that later), making that left hand turn off Route 16 on to Route 4 going towards the Rangeley side of town. “STOPPPPP….”!!! 🛑 The Mr. is getting much better at this! 😂. (He used to want The Who, What, Where, and When/alllllll the details before he’d stop. Now…he just stops. 🥳) I jump out, hustle down the grass, trying to be quiet, and sure enough, s/he is still there. S/he’s no longer on the higher rock that allowed me to get the peak at him/her when we made the turn, but on a lower rock. I had to step up onto a picnic table bench to get above the tall grasses on the shore (which alerted him/her to me) to get 14 shots in one minute and one second before it was all over. So very fortunate to catch these thrills. We sure are lucky in the RLRofMaine to have all these wonders available to us. Hope you enjoy, too.

Saturday, September 26….GORGEOUS Saturday in the RLRofMaine. Forecast had not been promising so this was a pleasant surprise. ☀️🍁🍂🧡
We usually post current photos and we had tried to post this last Sunday but somehow, it just went pffffff and disappeared! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Drive down the S-turns out of the Rangeley village on Route 4 by the AT crossing is often a treat. With fall foliage coming in, it shouldn’t be missed. Lots of gorgeous rides in the RLRofMaine! Come enjoy!!!

Today, in Rangeley, Maine… 🍁🍂🍁

This change of season sure seems to have come up fast; good thing it’s one of our favorites! There’s no place better to be than Rangeley for this glorious show stopper of Momma Nature…. wide open vistas, numerous scenic overlooks to stop and really enjoy the view, glistening deep blue waters that yes, match the sky, for a stunning backdrop providing a really dazzling backdrop for the foliage. The contrast of the thick green of all the conifers/fir trees is the icing on the cake!!! You have a few weeks to get here. Be sure to!!!
