Sunday Gulch Trail in Custer State Park, South Dakota is a 3 to 4 mile hike that starts just below the Sylvan Lake Dam. The trail starts out very interesting and goes about a 1/4 of a mile down a valley through boulders with railings. There are plenty of rocks to climb and is my favorite trail in Custer State Park. The trail is for the young at heart and an all time favorite for kids. The trail is not accessible for the handicapped and those out of shape. It can also be slippery at times since a small river goes through the trail at sections. We usually just go to the bottom of the trail until the railings run out and then hike back to the top.
