Friday at Caney Acres….meet Cinder. 🐾

This little girl showed up out of the blue in the middle of the acres. We have no idea where she came from, but she found a pretty good hiding spot - a stack of cinder blocks. So, Cinder it is. ❤️

For now, she’s an inside girl. She’s still too little to turn loose with the other cats and outdoor creatures, so we’re keeping her safe until she’s big enough.

That’s a little different around here because we’re outside cat people! Having a kitten in the house has definitely changed our routine! 😂

But just look at that face….I think she’s already made herself at home.

You just never know who’s going to show up at Caney Acres!🐾🐈‍⬛

Is there something simple you find relaxing?

For me, it can be just cleaning out old lily pads from the water feature and discovering new blooms, creatures and watching the goldfish. 🌸🐟

I also find mowing relaxing. There are very few decisions to make…other than which way to blow the clippings or do I go around the tree to the right or left. 😂

And then there’s fishing - which is even better when the catfish decides to take itself off the hook. I wasn’t fishing for him anyways! 🎣

What’s something, little or big, that you find relaxing?

🐾 Did you know August 26th is National Dog Day? 🐾

Around Caney Acres, we’ve had a number of dogs over the years, and currently have 3. Two of our current dogs are ones that just showed up out of nowhere. Being a half mile from the highway, you wonder where they came from!

But somehow, they become part of the family. ❤️

We welcome guests with well-behaved dogs, because we know leaving them behind isn’t always an option or what anyone wants to do.

And you realize when you start looking for pictures…..you apparently have more of two of your dogs than you do of one! 😬🐶🐾

We shared ours….now show us yours!

It’s Texas. It’s August. It’s going to be hot. ☀️

But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Caney Acres.

Find some shade, fish early or late, watch the hummingbirds and birds, or enjoy the view from inside through all those windows. And when it’s just too hot outside? There are some games waiting indoors. (byom)
