I'm not a licensed Landscape Architect, but sometimes I play one on TV (my monitor) 😁
My job as a 3D Artist is to bring a render to life, while also depicting design intent for my clients. This usually means crafting real world accurate materials and shaders for a home's facade, but it also means making an exterior landscape feel more believable and the home itself, not so....naked.
This is where my decade of experience as a landscape designer and hardscape contractor can come in handy for Archviz projects. I can take what is an undesigned property layout and design something during rendering that feels more polished, in order to help the architect better sell their home design to a client, prior to the landscape architect designing the space.
Here is a look at the finished renderings for a project I did last year, compared to the raw home model as I received it. (Rendered in my same software without adjustment) You can see where I took the baton and used my experience and skill set to craft what feels like a more formally designed outdoor space in comparison to what I started with, forming a beautiful collaboration between architect and artist.
