The countdown has started! In just over a month, I’ll be in downtown Philadelphia in booth #130 for the Rose Squared Rittenhouse Fine Craft Show! You’ll find me at the corner of 18th and Locust streets, directly across from Parc restaurant. This show never disappoints! Hope to see you there!

“Ode to Sonia Delauney” - When I was 12, I saw an exhibit of artworks at the Louvre museum by 20th century artist, Sonia Delaunay. Her colorful work made such an impression on me then, with its colorful patchwork and curved lines. When I saw these ceramic decal designs, I knew I had to incorporate them into some enamel pieces. This small limited collection is created on a base of copper, with multiple layers of vitreous enamel. I’ve added and fused bits of 22karat gold to the surface layers to give the designs some added bling! I hope you like them as much as I do! They will be available at my Fall shows in October.

Very happy to share that the Birdhouse sculpture we created in my Sculpture class at Bucks County Community College won the popular vote to become a permanent installation at the Lions Pride Park in Warrington, PA! It has some very happy and chirpy new residents too! Thank you to all who visited the exhibit and voted! 🥳

I’m on a Hummingbird kick again! I tell people Cloisonné is like painting with glass. I find such joy in experimenting with applying transparent enamels over opaques and seeing the results. A very painterly effect in my opinion. More hummingbirds to come!

I had the best time yesterday with this group of women! I continue to be so honored that they keep showing up to learn and create with me! The day flew by filled with great conversation, laughs, and busy work, and all wore their beautiful bracelets out at the end of the workshop. Thanks for the great day, ladies!! 😊

A recent commission of an African elephant cloisonné prompted me to create 3 different designs. These majestic creatures known not only for their size are truly awe inspiring by their intelligence, social skills, and memory. I hope I captured their beauty in these enameled and silver pieces!

The Summer Sculpture exhibition “Art in The Park” is now underway at the Lions Pride Park in Warrington, PA. Warrington Township partnered with Bucks County Community College and their 3D Arts Department to create sculptures to install at this beautiful community park. The community will vote on their favorite sculpture to become a permanent installation. My sculpture class worked collaboratively on “Birdhouse Bacchanal”, a very playful functional birdhouse created in mixed metals and wood. Many hours went into the creation of this piece.
I am also honored to have submitted one of my mom’s creations for the exhibition, “Harlequin”, a whimsical, colorful mixed media figure who watches over the playground there. If you get a chance, go see the exhibit and enjoy the artwork and this beautiful gem of a community park!

They say you’re never too old to learn something new! I’ve taken that to heart these past 3 months while learning how to weld, cut, grind, bend and polish steel becoming an Intro to Sculpture student at Bucks County Community College! I feel SO lucky to have this amazing place so close by, and hope my mom (who got her start in sculpture there back in the 70’s) is cheering me on from above! The end of the semester is fast approaching, it’s been so rewarding learning along side so many talented creative people, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
Here’s two projects I completed thus far, I’m working collaboratively with my class to create another exciting project, and have one more solo project yet to go! Fun times!! 😊
