Are you ready? Effective 05-07-2025 you will need a real ID or passport to fly domestically.

As of tomorrow, May 7, PASSENGERS WHO DO NOT HAVE THEIR REAL ID or another TSA-acceptable form of ID can expect:

— delays
— additional screening
— the possibility of not being allowed into the security checkpoint

Passport not required but you do need a real ID to travel by air starting May 7th. If you do not have the real ID you will need a passport to travel by air and to enter certain federal facilities.
