Antarctica isn’t your normal cruise. There are no ports lined with shops, no days wandering through cities and no typical sightseeing excursions. This is an expedition cruise. The entire experience is built around getting you off the ship and into one of the most remote places on Earth to view some of the remote landscape and animals on the planet.
You can travel through the Drake Passage (or fly) before reaching a world of massive glaciers and icebergs that are as tall as skyscrapers and view landscapes that don’t look real. Every hour in Antarctica is new experience. Zodiacs will take you out into the untouched landscape so you can step onto the Antarctic continent, view penguin colonies from the shoreline or spot whales and seals in the water.
Expedition teams plan around the weather, ice conditions and wildlife, which means itineraries can change as you go. That unpredictability is part of what makes Antarctica so different. You’re not simply arriving at a destination, you are exploring an untouched wilderness.
