Day EIGHT … German Pancakes, Roses, Airplane Ride, Home…

1,110 miles! What a venture!

We began the morning with a yummy breakfast at Elmer’s!!! In business since 1960! German pancakes with fruit and potato pancakes!!! Yummy!

Next we did a drive by of the Washington Park International Rose Test Garden in Portland… this is a definite return visit!!!

Lastly, but not least… it’s 10:56 PM Texas time and I am Home SWEET Home!

This was one epic, incredible venture… oh the places we will venture!

Day SEVEN … waterfall, hiking, and fun

We began our day with a hike in Silver Falls State Park to the South Falls. Amazingly beautiful!

Next, who wouldn’t love to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Gordon House? Well, we wanted to. This was a work of art.

We drove through fields of Hazelnut and Christmas trees for miles and miles!

We had a delicious late lunch at the Wild Pear in Salem. Then visited the state Capitol of Oregon. What a beauty!

And finally finished our last night by the Clackamas River in Oregon City relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying some Washington wine.

We fly out later today. But we still have one stop before we do!

Day SEVEN … Shopping and relaxing

This morning we started the day off with a home cooked yummy breakfast from Judy Gillespie in our beautiful Air BnB!

Next we backtracked a bit to the sweet bayside town of Bandon. We even saw a Memorial Day parade!

Out of Bandon, we went down to the beach and saw the infamous Face Rock, the Cat and Kittens Rock, Howling Dog, and the Witches Hat.

We then had a very LONG lunch in the town of ROSEBURG!!! Yes, that’s right… ROSEBURG… not ROSENBURG! Population 24,000.

We finally made it to the town of Eugene and spent a nice night in and had some yummy Marionberry pie and vanilla ice cream! Yum!

Day SIX… we made it to Oregon!!!

After waking up by the sea, we backtracked a couple of miles and took in the Mystery of the Trees in Klamath, CA! What a fun time visiting the top of the REDWOODS!

We then left CA and entered the enchanted land of Oregon! The Pacific Ocean was so beautiful, the jagged coastline, the haystack rocks, the starfish!

What’s a trip without a little car trouble… but thanks to Google and a great lifeguard angel, we are back on the road!

Lastly, we had a great night in in a lovely 1905 Air BnB! It’s lovely!

Day FOUR… TREES!!!!!

There are so little words for the sights today. These REDWOOD TREES are beyond anything we have ever seen!!!

Ferndale is a great town to visit especially if you love Victorian style and the historic Eureka Inn is so retro!

Northern California is INCREDIBLE!

Day THREE roadtripping!

We travelled today from the city through some magnificent country up to a small coastal town of Fort Bragg.

Along the way we stopped to shop and stroll in Sausalito, then on to Sonoma for a picnic in the park and a winery tour, next driving through the majestic Navarro Redwoods to get to the Pacific ocean side of the good old USA!

What a day!
