Adventure Idaho's founder Alan Davis has been rafting down the Salmon River since he was a 14 year old boy. He has recently completed his 100 trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon at the age of 49. His passion for rafting hasn't stopped at him he has a Loving wife and 3 boys who he has taught to love and respect the river. All three boys started Guiding there own rafts and trips when they were i

n there early teens. All members of the family play a role in Adventure Idaho's foundation and commitment of helping others experience the joy of a White Water rafting trip.

If you’ve got whitewater experience, why not take the oars yourself?

On our Row-Your-Own trips, our guides handle the food, camp, logistics, and support. You get to row your own boat through the river alongside the group.

Bring your own setup or rent a boat and gear from us. We’ve got you covered either way.

Steve is one of the most experienced river guides in town, and few people know the Salmon River like he does.

Want to know what flow a rapid really comes alive at? Or how a line has changed over the decades? Steve has the answer. (Ruby rapid peaks at 69,000 cfs)

He's definitely outnumbered by our team of 30+ younger guides, but we wouldn't have it any other way. His experience, perspective, and stories make our entire team better. He plays a great role in guide training, helps pass along decades of river knowledge, and keeps everyone laughing along the way.
