It’s officially been a year since we welcomed our first guests to Hays Creek Cottage, so we thought it was time for another introduction!

Hi! We’re the Atkinson’s. We grew up in the Valley, but we moved to NC 9 years ago where we currently live in a town south of Raleigh with our 3 children and dog.

We absolutely love the Valley- the landscape, the slower pace of life, the weather, and the access to so many outdoor activities. We feel Hays Creek Cottage represents all of these things. If you’re looking for a place to escape to the country and decompress from the busyness of everyday life, it’s the perfect spot to slow down and relax.

Back in May, we enlisted the help of to manage our home, and although we miss interacting with our guests, we have zero regrets. BeStillGetaways has been an absolute lifesaver, especially since we were busy preparing for our new daughter who arrived in August! They take such amazing care of our guests, and we are so thankful 🫶

We have had a busy September/October/November, but we have still have a lot of availability for December- come stay with us!

Spring has arrived at Hays Creek Cottage! We love seeing all of the flowers blooming on the property 🌸 🌺☀️

Don’t get me wrong…we love the cooler temps that the Winter brings, but we would be lying if we said we weren’t ready for some warmer weather ☀️

Winter is a beautiful time at the Cottage (especially when it snows!). The Winter provides for more visibility and openness with all of the leaves that have fallen from the trees, but we also love all of the greenery 🌿🍃🌱 that Spring brings and how it contrasts with the blue of the mountains ⛰️

(Side note- the Cottage received a new roof over the porch + some much needed tree trimming and landscaping since the first photo was taken 🙂)
