Took the Jeep on a very bumpy, 30 mile, 3 hour trip, on the Montana Mountain trail from Queen Valley, AZ to Superior, AZ. Great views as the trail climbed to over 5000 feet and then RAPIDLY descended back into the desert valley. Oh yeah...we have a Jeep now!

It was a little touch and go on day 1, but the kids seem to be getting along on day 2!

Our weekend adventure was to trailer the UTV to Roosevelt Lake, use it to explore a bit around Four Peaks, then head back to the lake for some beach time and swimming. Loki likes the UTV, but he LOVES playing frisbee at the lake!

Pt 3 of our northern Arizona mini-vacation includes more from around Page. Horseshoe Bend was crowded, but as beautiful as it is in pictures. The dunes and sandstone formations around Antelope Canyon would be fun to spend more time exploring. Simply put, Page is worth another trip!

Pt 2 of our northern Arizona mini-vacation was spent near Page. We did a tour of Upper Antelope Canyon, and it was so impressive that it gets its own post! While the pictures turned out well, they don't do this slot canyon justice, and choosing just 10 to show was a hard task! This tour was expensive, but a must-do if you are in this area. We took a week-long mini-vacation to northern Arizona. The first few days were spent visiting family, sampling a lot of beer, mead, and spirits, checking out some of the local wildlife at Bearizona, touring Lowell Observatory, and taking a Pink Jeep tour through Sedona. Pt 2 to follow.

We were Sailing Asgard, then we became Asgard on the Road, but now it might switch to Asgard OFF the Road! We've had so much fun in friend's UTVs and in rentals, that we decided to get one of our own. Today's ride was to the Salt River and back (about 40 miles). The road is easy/fun, and the river is pretty, but the weather was a little wet and chilly.

We decided to do something different and rented a UTV for the afternoon. Starting in downtown Globe, AZ, at about 3500 ft, we drove along rough trails and bumpy forest roads up to Pinal Peak at over 7800 ft. Many great views along the way, and the UTV made easy work of a route that would have been very uncomfortable or impossible in our truck.

Walked the medium loop of the Stairizona trail in Globe, AZ. This loop was 2.6 miles (3 when factoring wrong turns) through town, featuring several murals along the way. While this is a neat concept, some upkeep/restoration is needed, but checking out the longer, 6-mile, loop might be worthwhile.
