SOUTHWEST TO END FREE CHECKED BAGS. HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW…

- Southwest Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Business Select fare passengers will continue to receive two free checked bags.

- A-List Members and select customers will receive one free checked bag

- Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers will receive a credit for one checked bag.

- All other passengers will need to pay for their first and second checked bags, weight and size restrictions still in place.

- loyalty program to offer more points for Business Select fares while decreasing rewards for lower-tier tickets.

- new Basic fare, introduced for the most budget-conscious travelers, will debut alongside assigned seating and extra legroom options.

The airline announced Thursday, July 25, that it will begin assigning seats and offering premium seating, marking a major departure from one of the airline's most famous practices. The company’s updates also include plans to redesign the boarding model and introduce redeye flights.

Aloha Sacramento! When you read or hear the word Aloha, what do you think of? Hawaii, right??? Well if you have family or friends who live on the islands of Lihue on Kauai or to Kona mon Hawaii Island. Hawaiian Airlines can fly you there directly leaving out of the Sacramento International Airport.

Hawaiian Airlines will start service to Lihue on May 24, flying four times a week and on May 25 to Kona three times a week. No more having to travel 🧭 to the Bay Area for nonstop service to those destinations.

You may need ETIAS for your next trip to Europe.

ETIAS stands for the European Travel Information and Authorisation System. It is the new visa waiver for short-term stays in Europe.

ETIAS is not a visa, but it will be required to travel.

You can apply for ETIAS from 2024. It will become a mandatory EU entry requirement for over a billion travellers.

Air Canada will be offering non-stop flights to Toronto from Sacramento International Airport, according to a Thursday news release.
“The addition of Toronto to SMF’s list of nonstop destinations highlights the airport’s commitment to expanding options for local travelers and businesses,” the release stated.

The non-stop flights take 4 hours and 48 minutes to Toronto Pearson International Airport. Passengers can choose between economy, premium economy and business class seats.
Tickets can be purchased on the Air Canada website . The first direct flight leaves Saturday at 9:20 a.m. and starts at $684 for a one-way ticket.

South China Morning Post is reporting no more masks but there is exception…

Hongkongers and tourists can go mask-free from Wednesday as the city finally lifts its last major Covid-19 restriction after almost three years.

At a media session before the Executive Council meeting on Tuesday, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced the city’s indoor and outdoor mask requirements, as well as on public transport, would be scrapped from March 1.

But people entering high-risk premises, such as hospitals, would still be required to wear face coverings. The government “strongly recommends” visitors to care homes for the elderly wear masks.

Health experts also urged the public to wear masks when on public transport and visiting crowded indoor areas to prevent other respiratory infections.

Students, however, could take off their masks at school, with the daily rapid test requirement to remain in place until March 15 for those at primary schools, kindergartens and special schools pending further review.
