Meet Paola ❤️🦋

An excellent cook, thoughtful listener, lifelong learner, heritage preserver, and a truly good friend.

You may have seen her leading our Spanish Language Labs, which is just one of many ways she shows up for the Culture Co-Op. She’s one of our behind the scenes contributors as well - making sure all the details for our events are sorted and holding space for our attendees in a way that makes them feel at ease. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her knows that her loving and kind nature radiates into whatever room she enters. We’re so grateful to have her support, to share in laughter with her, and to say we have even gotten to explore other countries with her!

When she isn’t planning Culture Co-Op events, Paola is often spending time with her daughter, enjoying nature, reading, or writing new poetry. She loves visiting farmer’s markets, spending time in Mexico, and learning how to utilize food as medicine.

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting Paola, you can find her at our next Spanish Language Lab on June 3rd!

If you’re looking to build confidence in your Italian speaking skills, join us at Café Xocolatl for our newest Language Lab Series, led by native Italian speaker .

Join us at the .sacramento next Saturday, February 7th for an Italian Dance Workshop & Language Immersion with the Culture Co-Op, our very own Italian Ambassador and Balliamo Italian Folk Dance Group!

🇮🇹11am - 12pm: Balliamo will teach an Italian Folk Dance workshop-style - laid-back, fun vibes!

🇮🇹 12pm - 1pm: The Culture Co-Op Team will share an Italian Language Immersion experience with interactive ice-breakers, games, and a guided chat on culture and social change.

💃 Balliamo is Sacramento’s Italian Folk Dance Group, dedicated to preserving heritage through dance! Founded by Doris Beckert and sponsored by the Sacramento Italian Cultural Society in 1987, Balliamo began learning various types of Italian dances and has since become Northern California’s premier Italian Cultural dance group. Our dances are representative of the various regions in Italy and give our audiences a feel for its dynamic and rich culture.

✨ All genders and ages welcome. Come as you are, leave a little more in love with la dolce vita.
