One of the wildest places in Japan. This is Shinsekai in Osaka. A retro entertainment and dining area untouched by modern development. It was first created in 1912 and was modeled after the Eiffel Tower and Coney Island. Food here is cheap. There are random carnival style games next to small local restaurants . Theres even a retro arcade! It’s a must visit and we take you there!

Yakatabune boats. This one is in the town of Kurashiki where we stay for two nights. Of course we’re doing this!

Locals only sake bar. That’s my friend and the owner. His shop specializes in sakes made only in this specific region of Japan and they are amazing!

Karaoke in a locals bar. The bartender told me I was the first foreigner to ever visit. I’ll take you.

Traditional coffee houses over 100 years old still operate and serve this breakfast set the same way they’ve been doing for decades. It’s the only thing on the menu. They aren’t easy to find. But of course, I’ll show you.

Oh the cocktail scene! High class on another level. These are also hard to find. Down a weird alley, up a staircase you’d never venture into back home. But it’s the norm and finding them is half the fun.

Okonomiyaki restaurants. Noodle mixed with egg, cabbage and your choice of protein then fried over a flat griddle and covered with a thick gravy like sauce. I’ve got a great one for you!

Local restaurants where you won’t see any tourists. You need to know where to go to find them. Luckily you have us!

Japanese tea ceremony. This is my friend’s Chash*tsu “Tea Room”. It’s located in the small town of Kurashiki. The best part? She loves to show us around the town and introduce us to her local friends. That Karaoke bar from the previous photo. She took me there. ❤️

This is Jack a Shamisen guitar expert. He will be giving us all a lesson in his private studio.

For my tattoo friends. I know a master that rarely tattoos tourists. He did one for me though and I’ll show you how to find him. His shop is in the attic space of a locals only public bath house. Just walking in there is an experience in itself.

Best ramen in the world. Enough said. This one is a spicy chicken version located on a small side street of Kyoto. Yum!

Getting around is half the fun! Bullet trains, in VIP seating, are so comfortable. Staring out the window at the countryside is a very peaceful experience.
