Happy National Read a Book Day! 📚🎃

If you have a little one who loves trucks, diggers, tractors and all things that go, Halloween books are even more fun this time of year.

We’ve been pulling out some of our favorite not-so-spooky truck and vehicle Halloween books, and I rounded up 15 Halloween books for kids who love trucks on the blog — including The Trucks That Saved Halloween and some of our family favorites.

KACHOW! ⚡️🏁 Happy Lightning McQueen Day!

Obviously we had to celebrate by giving our Radiator Springs a little Halloween makeover. 🎃👻

A few mini pumpkins, spiderwebs, lights + decorations we already had and we had our own little Haul-O-Ween — for less than $10!

Pumpkin Patch Delivery 🎃🚜

Apparently all you need for a Halloween activity is a few mini pumpkins, toy trucks and a driveway 😂

Load up the trucks, race them to the pumpkin patch and deliver the pumpkins. Super simple, barely any setup, and my boys wanted to do it over and over.

🎃🚜 IT’S HERE!

The Trucks That Saved Halloween is officially available today! 💜🧡

I have been working on this story for months, and I’m SO excited that I can finally share the Truck Team’s newest adventure with you.

This time, Dump Truck, Excavator and Crane Truck are getting ready for Halloween — complete with pumpkins, costumes, a Halloween carnival, a little magic and, of course… TRUCK-or-treating! 🍬🚜

I wanted this book to capture the fun, colorful, not-too-spooky side of Halloween for little kids — with lots for truck-loving kids to spot along the way.

And seeing the actual finished books sitting here today feels pretty surreal. 🥹

🍦 We found an ice cream shop so good… we went back TWO days later. 😂

During our trip to Connecticut, we stopped at Rich Farm Ice Cream in Middlefield and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

Homemade ice cream ✔️
Ridiculously generous portions ✔️
So many flavors it’s almost impossible to choose ✔️
Some of the nicest scoopers we met ✔️

My first order was a split scoop of Peppermint Stick + Razzmanian Devil — vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce and giant chocolate chunks — and Razzmanian Devil may have been my favorite.

But obviously, further research was required. 😂 So a couple days later we went BACK, this time for Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Cup, Cookie Monster and Strawberry.

No regrets. 🍨

I’ve been working on this one for months, and I seriously cannot wait to finally share it with you!

In The Trucks That Saved Halloween, Dump Truck, Excavator and Crane Truck are getting ready for their biggest fall adventure yet — complete with costumes, pumpkins, carnival fun, a little Halloween magic and, of course… truck-or-treating! 🍬👻

And I have to admit, seeing the trucks dressed up for Halloween might be one of my favorite things I’ve created yet. 😂
