Good news — many Americans can now renew their U.S. passport online if they meet a few simple requirements.

✅ Your passport was issued for 10 years
✅ It expires within 1 year or expired less than 5 years ago
✅ You’re not changing personal info (like your name)
✅ You’re currently in the United States
✅ You still have your previous passport
✅ You’re 25 or older
✅ You don’t need expedited service
