Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship sets sail December 18, 2027, from Fort Lauderdale, with an Encanto stage show, Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, new themed staterooms and concierge suites.

Bookings open at 8 a.m. Eastern:

Life gets busy. Friendships deserve vacations, too.

You don’t need to wait for a birthday, a milestone or a “good enough” reason to take the trip.

Sometimes the friendship IS the reason.

Looking back at our January 2024 Bestie Moon, I don’t just remember where we went. I remember how much we laughed, the ridiculous pictures, getting dressed up, being pirates, and all those little moments that only make sense when you’re with your person.

And that’s exactly why I think a Disney cruise works so well for a Bestie Moon. There’s plenty to do together, plenty of opportunities to slow down, and enough Disney magic to make two grown women happily wear ears, pirate bandanas and take approximately 4,782 photos.

Someday you won’t remember what you almost bought instead of taking the trip.

But you’ll remember this.

So here’s your permission slip: take the trip with your best friend. Make the ridiculous memories. Take too many pictures. Stay up talking. Order the dessert.

Give yourselves another story that starts with, “Remember when we…?”

Yesterday was day 1 in Orlando and we're just getting started.

Our Delta flight started things off with about an hour delay, which normally isn't exactly how you want a travel day to begin.

But then came the bonus, my friend Jenn came onboard!

Suddenly, an extra hour didn't seem quite so bad. 😂

Once we finally made it to Orlando, we had friends waiting to pick us up at the airport, and then it was off to Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside to get checked in.

We dropped the luggage in the room and went to EPCOT.

We met up with everyone, grabbed a snack and a drink, checked out GEO-82, wandered through Creations looking for some of the 55th merchandise, and tried not to let the seemingly nonstop Florida rain change our plans.

Claire and I headed back to Riverside to get some work done, photograph and video the room, and check out what's happening around the resort.

Then it was back out to meet everyone for dinner at The Cake Bake Shop and what a way to end our first day.

Beautiful restaurant, fabulous food, lots of laughs, and time with friends we don't get to see nearly enough.

And really, that's what I'll remember about yesterday.

Not the flight delay.

Not even all that rain. 😂

I'll remember the people.

Those are the parts of travel that don't show up on an itinerary.

And now the reason Claire and I came to Walt Disney World in the first place.

Today is Disney Cruise Line BELIEVE.

We've got our credentials, we're ready to go, and we'll be bringing you along with us.

Disney’s newest resort is almost bookable… and I have a feeling this one is going to get a LOT of attention.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge opens July 1, 2027, along the shores of Bay Lake — and the more Disney reveals, the more interesting this resort gets.

A lazy river.

Waterfront Lake Houses.

Views of Bay Lake.

Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.

And Disney storytelling inspired by nature, with touches from Pocahontas, Bambi, Encanto, Brother Bear and more.

But here’s the part I really want families to know:

New doesn’t automatically mean it’s the RIGHT resort for your vacation.

Where you stay at Walt Disney World can make a huge difference in how your trip feels — especially when you factor in your family size, park plans, transportation preferences, room type and budget.

That’s where having someone help you sort through all of those options can really matter.

And if Lakeshore Lodge IS the right fit for your family, booking dates are coming quickly:
