Recently a dear friend inquired:
QUESTION:
When you’re free - can you send me a list of things you believe people in the travel space struggle with day to day?
MY ANSWER:
In my personal and professional opinion, I believe travel business owners struggle with many of the same challenges that business owners in other industries face—namely focus, follow-up, and follow-through. I truly don’t think it’s much more complicated than that.
Every business requires an initial learning phase to understand the industry, along with the nuances of each company’s systems and processes. Likewise, every industry demands a certain level of mastery in order to rise to the top of the field and generate consistent income. Marketing and sales are also essential in any business until referrals and repeat customers begin to sustain growth—and these are challenges faced by business owners across all industries, not just travel.
So honestly, I don’t believe the struggles in the travel business are unique. Many business owners—especially those new to entrepreneurship—simply struggle with staying motivated, planning productive days, and developing a clear, actionable business plan.”
I loved the above dialogue. The reality is this: the freedom this business gives me—along with the training and support we receive—is far more rewarding than it is challenging.
As we get older, we start to truly understand how valuable our time really is. Time with the people we love. Time to rest. Time to grow. Time to live.
Being able to work from home—or from anywhere in the world—has been incredibly liberating for me. I get to control my time, enjoy my time, and build businesses I’m passionate about without being tied to one location.
Honestly, I don’t focus much on the challenges, because the rewards outweigh them every single day. Freedom has a way of doing that.
Question for you:
👉 What would you do differently if you had more control over your time?
