Is hard to let nature run it’s course.
An anemone had caught my eye because it was laying on the sandy bottom I came close to it and tried to get a good shot, I noticed a tiny red head sticking out of the center... and oh my! Lots of people had told me that sea hares have almost no predators because they secrete a bitter purple ink like chemical deterrent. Today we can add Tube Dwelling Anemones to the list of California Sea Hare predators... I guess they can’t taste so they are probably immune to their ink.

I decided to explore my own neighborhood today so I went out free diving under the Coronado Bridge, I have to say I never tried diving here before because of boat traffic but as you can see, I stayed shallow and I had a marker. I found 2 of the 3 things I was looking for, and sadlyI had to cut it short because my camera lens fogged up. (I probably should have left it out on the patio table all night) anyways, temp was on the high 50’s and viz was patchy 10-5 and absolute no waves or surge haha!

The Dive Report for today includes lots of sediment on the water which always helps to keep dive buddies close by LOL. Viz was supper washed even at the canyon, great macro opportunities and with all the nudies and little creatures that came out to play.

Dolphins and Sea Lions on the hunt for some sardines.
It was so much fun to follow them from the sky, and watch their interactions, there was a sea lion that was probably on crack and was just so excited to be part of this hunt, watch him, he was nuts LOL!

This is my favorite animal in the whole wide world, they are incredibly smart and complex, they are masters at camouflage and incredible hunters, their brain lays all over their body, each te****le can taste what they touch. Can you imagine what that would be?
Now, why the lack of respect to this incredible animal even in the western world, they are served as a delicacy...
90% percent of the people I know (even divers) who share my passion eat them...
To me, It’s the equivalent of eating a house dog 😢
People from around the world send me pictures of octopus dishes like saying, “look, you like octopus right?”
I spend so much time with them and study their behavior, they brighten my day, they amaze me (like your dog would at home) and I would not hurt them, please don’t eat them
