Madrid does not do anything early. 🇪🇸

Lunch at 2. Dinner at 10. The good bars don't fill up until midnight. Lean into it and the city opens right up.

My new Madrid guide is live, and it's the honest, insider version: where to stay in and around Salamanca, the tapas tour that was my favorite afternoon in the city, a rooftop bar you'd never find on your own, and the day trip to Toledo that feels like time travel.

Old-master art, rooftop bars, midnight dinners, and tapas worth the flight.

Every hotel in the guide is one I book with exclusive perks: credits, daily breakfast, and upgrades.

Full guide at the link in bio. Let's make it unforgettable. 🦚

Here is what your wedding guests actually care about.

They took time off work. They spent their vacation budget. They booked flights and packed a bag and showed up for you. What they want in return is surprisingly simple: they want to feel taken care of.

Not entertained. Not impressed. Taken care of.

That means knowing where they are staying and how to get there. It means not feeling stranded between events because nobody thought about the hours between the rehearsal dinner and the ceremony. It means that if not everyone is invited to the rehearsal dinner (and that is completely fine) being at an all-inclusive property means nobody is sitting in their room feeling excluded while everyone else is at the table.

It means being treated as a guest. Not as a substitute host who is expected to figure things out on their own.

And it means this: if you are stressed, they are stressed. The couple sets the temperature for the entire weekend.

When the logistics are handled, when someone has thought through the room block, the transportation, the communication, the gaps in the schedule, the couple can actually be present. And when the couple is present, everyone relaxes.

That is what a travel advisor does for a wedding weekend. Not just the booking. The experience of every single person who showed up for you.

Resorts are leaning into pickleball. Dedicated courts, clinics with pros, and programming built around the game instead of squeezed onto a spare tennis court.

If your group has a standing match and a healthy rivalry, swipe to see where I would send you.

The Broadmoor runs actual tournaments. Round Hill works for everyone from casual players to the competitive ones who keep score a little too seriously. Casa de Campo built four dedicated courts into its Racquet Center. Rancho Valencia is close to home and made for racquet sports.

I handle the group contracts, rate negotiations, and logistics. Your group focuses on the game.

Consider this your permission slip to slow down. 🥐🍰🍷

Santa Ynez Valley has been calling me back for decades: Danish bakeries (well, ONE in particular), boutique wineries, a stagecoach tavern turned dreamy hideaway, and yes, the occasional ostrich sighting.

Swipe through for where to stay, eat, drink, and shop, straight from a couple decades of returning (and one very memorable January wedding at The Landsby).

Happy International Self-Care Day. 💆‍♀️

I am celebrating by getting something off my chest:

Hotels with a hallway of treatment rooms should not be allowed to call it a spa.

That is a hotel that offers massages. Lovely. Not a spa. A real spa has the before and after: saunas, salt rooms, plunge pools, aromatherapy showers, sound bath rooms, and a quiet pool where the only sound is someone exhaling for the first time in months.

Every property in this carousel passes that test. I know because I tested them personally, whenever I travel, wherever I go. It is research, you guys. Someone has to do it. I've also included two of my next research assigments.😎🦚

(That cover photo? Taken at Rancho Santana, roughly four minutes after the best massage of my life. You can see the research in my eyes.)

Planning a group reset? The room blocks, the treatment schedules, the friend who only wants a pedicure... I handle all of it. You just show up in the robe.

Now on the blog: my full guide to Los Angeles.

The one I give my own clients. Where to stay by neighborhood, and the restaurants worth building a whole evening around. Plus an honest read on a city I have loved since my school days here.

Beaches, canyons, old Hollywood, and yes, the traffic. All of it worth it when you plan it right.

The room block is the most misunderstood piece of wedding planning.

Couples skip it because of what they've heard, and what they've heard is mostly wrong.

I went looking for what actually holds up, and these four myths didn't, including the one about being stuck paying for empty rooms and the one about who actually manages all of this.
