What happens when you fall in love with something that is 5,000 years old, complex, and alive?

We've been working on Peru for a while now. Longer than we usually do.

The country is so layered — pre-Inca and Inca, colonial and modern, Indigenous and immigrant, coastal and Andean — that we kept finding new threads we wanted to honor before we felt ready to officially announce the opening of our Peru experiences. We wanted to launch with people who could speak to all of it. Not just the icons.

Today, we're venturing into Peru. Our 14th country.

The experience makers we're launching with include archaeologists who've worked on Saqsaywaman and Machu Picchu, Quechua weavers in the Sacred Valley, the fishermen of Chorrillos whose daily catches supply Lima's best kitchens, yachaqs (Andean healers) who work with medicinal plants, and people who can take you inside Peru's celebrated food culture.

Peru, in our co-founder Vinitaa's words, is "ancient, ornate, and deeply continuous" — one living cultural fabric.

We hope you'll come.

Which one do you imagine yourself doing this summer?

🇬🇷 A cooking class inside a cave kitchen on Santorini.
🇵🇹 A private lunch at the Palace Kitchen in the Douro.
🇪🇸 A walk through Gràcia, tracing Gaudí and Barcelona’s radical heart.

We put together three ways to spend a few days this summer in three iconic destinations — Santorini, the Douro, and Barcelona — each built from Fernwayer’s individually bookable experiences.

Santorini in Quiet Rhythm — cave kitchens, volcanic landscapes, sunset cruises, and quieter villages across the island.
Craft and Vine in the Douro — vineyard landscapes, river estates, and traditions of the Portuguese Northeast.
Modernisme in Barcelona — modernist architecture, artist studios, hidden streets, and the layered spirit of the city.

Mix and match the experiences you like from our collection.

And if you want more ideas for each trip, the full Lookbooks are available at fernwayer.com/lookbook.

To the moms who shaped how we see the world — happy Mother’s Day.

“This is a deeply personal experience, best shared with someone you love. For me, that was my mother.” — M.R.G.

Rome at first light. Her 81-year-old mother beside her. And Emanuele — a photographer who walked slowly, shared generously, and made the morning feel like it belonged to them.

If there’s a trip you’ve been meaning to take with your mother, let this be the year.

They call it the “Paris of South America,” but this doesn’t quite do justice to Buenos Aires.

Although much of the Argentine capital was designed by elite society who wished to recreate a European metropolis, the beauty of Buenos Aires lies in its cultural fusion – expressed not only by bricks and mortar but through gastronomy, the arts, and porteño voices.

In a city of this scale, a checklist won’t suffice. Buenos Aires is best experienced one neighborhood at a time. Learn tango in private before stepping into a milonga, explore the layered legacy of Peronism with local historians, or see familiar landmarks like Recoleta Cemetery and La Boca through a photographer’s lens. Share mate with locals or follow a culinary trail shaped by centuries of immigration.

The only danger in Buenos Aires is falling head over heels and never wanting to leave! 🇦🇷

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on what it means to travel with awareness, seeking to understand and protect the places we explore 🌎

In the high reaches of the Atacama Desert, this full-day photography journey takes you across remote salt flats in the Chilean Altiplano, home to flamingos, vicuñas and volcanic landscapes shaped over millennia. Guided by a local expert, you’ll explore Los Flamencos National Reserve while learning about its geology, wildlife and fragile ecosystems, capturing it all with intention. Due to the high altitude, this experience is best planned after a few days acclimatizing to the region.

The Spanish capital since 1561, Madrid is a global city where all of Spain comes together, from Andalusian to Basque culture and cuisine. Home to world-class museums like the Prado and Reina Sofia, it combines aristocratic tradition with a vibrant contemporary scene shaped by its boutiques, galleries, and tapas culture.

From Golden Age icons to the counterculture Movida madrileña, Madrid’s history comes alive in its streets. Wander through the literary corners of the Barrio de las Letras, feel the rhythm of flamenco, or follow the energy of locals hopping between tapas spots late into the evening.
