Six foot four, six ten with the fro, Christopher Lyman is the die-hardest drummer and all-around rock n’ roll assassin you will ever hopefully have on your side. From late 80's DC hardcore scene to 90's SF hip-hop and 2000's psyche metal... Chris keeps meticulous time and crushes beats with a foot of stone, heart of gold and humour that will forever slay you.
As the rythmic and logistical backbone of the Bay Area's psyche metal band, Turn Me On Dead Man, Chris has laid the thunderous foundation for a handful of albums over the past 15 years that have been put out by Jello Biafra at Alternative Tentacles Records and Europe's HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS. In fact, they’ve got a new album in the can right now that was recorded and mixed by their six-string wizard, and Light Rail Studios owner, Nick Dumitriu.
As if that's not already too much for mere mortals to imagine, then add in the fact that Chris is also a stand-up husband, father and head systems operator at the world famous Monterey Aquarium.
But wait, there’s more! Chris and I occasionally merge our wonder twin powers into the 2-piece overdriven and swingin’ riff-rock unit known as The Fukawfs (say it with pleasure) and we’ll be back in the studio this year as well.
So that’s it, now you know, call him Rock n’ Roll Snyder, Danger Pockets or Strawberry Black... one part Slayer, one part Sade, one part Macgyver, zero parts bu****it – Chris Lyman is true.
