The OV Pro earbuds.

The unique pill shape has its root in ergonomics and function. The microphone array features prominently, but we wanted to create the smallest earbud package possible so it would appear elegant inside the ear.

Here's one from the archives that were sharing for the first time. OV Loop.

This project for OV was the first wearable to let people create custom soundscapes to tune their listening experiences on-the-fly. Ambient or passthrough mode is commonplace today, but 3 years ago, it was rare and required an app to work.

Our proposal was to create more of an edge device, bringing hardware processing to the wearable; allowing the user to control their sonic isolation and transparency without pulling out the phone to adjust settings. With one touch, the user could have a conversation with someone without removing their earbuds using the transparency mode.

Sol Republic wanted to solve the biggest problem with active headphones, falling out during a workout. Inspired by the properties of airless tires for the automotive industry, we designed and engineered a geometry that deforms in a special way to fit anyone. All ears are unique after all.

Markets matter for innovation to become meaningful. The resulting solution immediately received high praise from active consumers and quickly became a best seller in the category, as well as securing a and an IDEA award.

Hosted the future stars of the music and entertainment
industry at our studio this week with our friends from Real Industry. We lead them through a challenge to envision the future of the music industry; 10 students and 3 teams from around the globe brought their energy and creativity to their ideas during our design sprint! Along the way they got a glimpse of what it really takes, the unique challenges of bringing a product from idea all the way to market.

This years' entries really challenged us to deliberate harder and peel back what makes a great design solution in a category that is as broad as it is complex.
