Malta - This tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean (it's actually an archipelago consisting of three islands) home to approx. 400.000 people, is easy to get to from anywhere in Europe. Probably the best time to visit is during shoulder season (May/June & September/October) as peak season is usually too busy. Malta is not just a beautiful coastline, there are plenty of important historical sights, a very strong identity, great wine, a surprisingly good cuisine and friendly locals (who drive like mad people 😅)!

Belize - This is a slightly different photo but I felt that in these troubled times, more than just uploading beautiful snaps of exotic locations, I should put a smile on your faces, so here you have it! A random guy and his adorable dog sunbathing, completely oblivious to the world around them. 🌎🌍🌏🇧🇿🇧🇿🇧🇿🤪🤪🤪

Uxmal, Mexico - Uxmal means ‘thrice-built’ in Mayan. This name refers to the construction of its highest structure, the Pyramid of the Magician which was built on top of existing pyramids. In this case, five stages of construction have been found. These ruins are quite remote and although you won't almost have the entire place for yourself as you do in Palenque, this archeological site won't be as busy as Chichén-Itza and is in our opinion the one with the most impressive pyramids 🌎 🌍 🌏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🤓🤓🤓

Chichén-Itza, México - Continuing on our Mayan ruins series we leave you with Chichén-Itza. Chichén-Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. The archaeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico. Come here at 8am sharp if you want to beat the crowds 🌎 🌍 🌏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽😜😜😜 @ Chichén-Itzá

Palenque, Mexico - Palenque is the name given to the ruined ancient Mayan city of the Late Classic Period (c. 600–900 CE) in what is now Chiapas state, Mexico. The city’s ruins were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. If you like Mayan ruins in the middle of the jungle with very few tourists then this is the place for you, and what a place, these ruins rank amongst the best we ever visited 🌎 🌍 🌏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽😜😜😜 @ Ruinas Arqueológicas De Palenque, Chiapas

Progresso, Yucatan, México - If you feel like escaping the great city of Merida and head to the coast to the nearest beach town, on the way you'll find some awesome Mayan ruins and Cenotes (sinkholes where you can swin). Be ready to have some of the best fish tacos of your life in this beach town at El Fabuloso Pez. With a full stomach then it's time to head to the beaches 🌎 🌍 🌏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🐋🐋🐋

Isla Holbox, Mexico - To the northeast of the Yucatan Peninsula lies the less visited Isla Holbox. Less visited as it's no longer a secret but it's surely less busy than Cozumel, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, etc., which in our opinion are over comercialised! Come here for some awesome beach time or during the summer months to swim with whale sharks 🌎 🌍 🌏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽😜😜😜

About us

Welcome to this blog, we are happy you’ve stumbled upon us, seriously, your visit has made our day. Our names are Jose and Maria (quite biblical we know…) we travel together when possible, but when that’s not the case, we travel with friends or even solo at times.

We aren’t full time travellers, but we are full time content creators. We travel when we can, sometimes for many months at a time, other times maybe for just a couple of weeks or even just over a weekend. Yes, we are a couple, as in, we binge-watch TV series and call each other cute nicknames, and have been asked more times than we can remember: ‘when are you settling down and having a baby’…

When we are on the road, we spend our days exploring amazing places, meeting people from other cultures and different backgrounds, helping others plan their backpacking adventures, taking photographs, and living life to the fullest.

At the time of writing this, as far as science is concerned, we only have one life and usually a lifespan of a couple of decades and then that’s it, over, finito, kaput! So what we really wanted to say is follow your dreams, be happy, make others happy, be nice to everyone and if you have time, follow this blog, check our YouTube channel or follow our Instagram account.
