Most people assume Singapore Airlines' famous Suites are what you'd get flying JFK to Frankfurt. They're not — and it's worth knowing before you book. The JFK–Frankfurt sector is flown once daily as flights SQ26/SQ25, the transatlantic leg of a longer Singapore–Frankfurt–New York routing, and it operates on the Boeing 777-300ER in Singapore's First Class cabin.

Suites is a different product entirely, flown on the A380, and the A380 doesn't continue on to New York — it turns around in Frankfurt. Still a genuine First Class seat on a fifth-freedom flight most travelers don't think to look for, just not the one people picture.

Save this you book Singapore Airlines First Class between the US and Europe.

Here's what's easy to miss about British Airways First: it's the widest US network of any airline still flying true First Class — thirteen cities into Heathrow alone — but the cabin itself isn't one consistent product.

It flies on four different aircraft types, the Airbus A380, Boeing 777-300ER, 787-9 and 787-10, and depending on which one shows up, you're getting a different generation of suite. New York leads the frequency table at up to five times daily, with LA, Boston and San Francisco all running multiple flights too.

A new First suite is set to debut on the A380 from mid-2026, alongside the airline's wider Club Suite rollout. Worth knowing before you book: the departure city tells you the schedule, not the seat.

Save this if you're comparing BA First against Lufthansa or Air France for your next transatlantic booking.

If you book and fly with La Première, here's the map worth knowing: it's Paris CDG only, always on the Boeing 777-300ER, and each aircraft carries just four suites — the smallest true First Class cabin flying the Atlantic.

New York gets up to two flights a day, LA up to three. San Francisco, Miami, Washington Dulles, Atlanta and Houston all run once daily, and Boston joins the network on July 20 as the newest addition. We'd keep an eye on that last one closer to departure — new routes sometimes see availability shift in the weeks before launch. Worth knowing before you book, especially if a client has their heart set on a specific date.

Save this if you're mapping out La Première availability for your US departure city.

Unlike most airlines, SWISS puts a First Class cabin on every long-haul aircraft — which means First Class is genuinely available across its whole US network, not just one or two flagship routes.

ZRH ⇄ JFK — up to 2x daily, Airbus A330-300
ZRH ⇄ Newark (EWR) — 1x daily, Airbus A330-300
ZRH ⇄ Boston (BOS) — 1x daily, transitioning to the new Airbus A350 with SWISS Senses — the debut route for the three-person First Grand Suite
ZRH ⇄ Chicago (ORD) — 1x daily, Boeing 777-300ER
ZRH ⇄ Miami (MIA) — 1x daily, Boeing 777-300ER
ZRH ⇄ Los Angeles (LAX) — 1x daily, Boeing 777-300ER
ZRH ⇄ San Francisco (SFO) — 1x daily, Boeing 777-300ER

Seven US gateways from a single European hub, all with a genuine First Class cabin. For you who want SWISS First specifically, Boston is currently the one to watch — it's where the newest hardware lands first.

Here's something worth knowing before you book a Lufthansa First Class ticket to Europe: the airport you depart from decides which aircraft you get, not just which city. Frankfurt flies the Boeing 747-8 — the classic nose suite, curtain instead of a door — to New York, Newark, Washington Dulles, Chicago, Miami, LA and San Francisco, with JFK, Newark and Chicago running up to twice daily.

Munich splits between the Airbus A380 (LA, San Francisco, Dulles, Boston, plus Denver through late September) and the newer Allegris A350, which drops the cabin down to three suites but gives each one an actual closing door.

Same fare class, two genuinely different products. Ask me how I know which one to pick.

Save this if you're weighing Frankfurt vs. Munich for your next transatlantic booking.

Emirates flies true First Class between the US and Europe — no stop in Dubai required. These are fifth-freedom sectors: Emirates picks up passengers in Europe on the way to or from Dubai, so you get the full Emirates First Class experience on a transatlantic-length flight.

JFK ⇄ Milan (MXP) — 1x daily, flown by the Airbus A380. Onboard shower spa, onboard bar, and the full A380 First Class suite.

Newark ⇄ Athens (ATH) — 1x daily, flown by the Boeing 777-300ER. Enclosed First Class suites, no shower, but the same caviar service and lie-flat comfort.

Both flights continue on to Dubai after the European stop, which is what makes them "fifth freedom" — Emirates operating a route between two countries that aren't its home base.

Singapore Airlines is about to offer more First Class capacity to Auckland than at any point in at least six years.

From 25 October 2026, flights SQ281/282 upgauge from the Airbus A350 — no First Class cabin at all — to the Boeing 777-300ER. That gives 8 First Class seats a day across two 777 rotations, up from a single daily service the year before.

From 17 January 2027, it goes further: one of those 777s swaps for an A380, taking daily premium capacity to 10 seats and adding genuine Suites — not just more 777 First. The route's third daily flight stays on the A350 throughout, Business and below only.

The booking note that matters: which aircraft is on your specific date determines whether the seat is 777 First or A380 Suites. Check before confirming.

Air New Zealand is expanding alongside SQ on the same route — between the two joint-venture partners, this is the strongest Singapore–Auckland premium schedule in years.

Emirates just made its Japan chauffeur network the most complete in the country — for any international carrier.

Narita International Airport went live on 1 February 2026, covering 23 neighbourhoods across Tokyo plus areas in Chiba, Saitama and Kanagawa. Kansai International Airport follows on 1 March 2026, covering Osaka City plus parts of Nara, Kyoto and Hyogo. Both join Haneda, where the service already runs — meaning Emirates now covers all three of Japan's major international gateways.

Available to First and Business Class passengers on eligible Emirates-operated flights: complimentary door-to-door transfers between the airport and home, hotel, or office, up to 100km per journey. Beyond that, JPY 500 (AED 12) per additional kilometre, payable directly to the driver.

No other international airline offers chauffeur-driven service across multiple Japanese airports — not JAL, not ANA, not any other foreign carrier. For splitting time between Tokyo and Osaka on the same trip, that consistency across all three gateways is the real story here.

If you've booked an Emirates Skywards award seat in First and promised the client a chauffeur — check the fare basis first.

Since March 1, 2019, Emirates has excluded chauffeur-drive service from Skywards Classic Reward bookings — in any cabin, including First. Economy-to-Business upgrade redemptions lose it too. Nothing on the booking confirmation flags this. The ticket looks the same as a paid fare right up until the client is standing at arrivals with no car in sight.

The full exclusion list: Skywards Classic Reward bookings (any cabin), Economy→Business upgrade redemptions, partner airline award tickets (Alaska, JAL, and others), any Qantas booking — even codeshares — and Business "Special" basic fares, along with transit connections under 24 hours.

What still includes it: revenue First Class on any fare, and Business Saver, Flex, and Flex Plus fares booked and paid for directly.

The fix is simple — check the fare basis, not just the cabin, before promising the car.

You can't buy this pyjama set. Not in stores, not online. The only way to own it is to fly Air France La Première.

"Le Pyjama" is the airline's first-ever collaboration with a fashion house on passenger loungewear — designed by Simon Porte Jacquemus. Navy cotton, the winged Hippocamp embroidered on the chest, a discreet "Le Pyjama" label, and a grosgrain ribbon carrying the Jacquemus logo stitched at the back. Four sizes, V-neck or round-neck. Presented in a pillowcase-shaped pouch closed with Jacquemus's signature round-square buttons.

Air France has commissioned designers before — Christian Lacroix most recently, for crew uniforms. This is different. It's made for the passenger, not the staff, and it's been given to every La Première guest on eligible long-haul flights since spring 2025.

Keep the pouch. It travels well.
