A little Finland news I’ve been so excited to share… ✨🇫🇮

Sokos Hotels is officially our Helsinki hotel partner for the 2027 Hidden Gems Finland: Aurora Escape.

Our journey will begin at Solo Sokos Hotel Helsinki, right in the heart of the city, before we head north to Lapland.

I’m very intentional about the partners I choose for these Escapes. I want places that feel special, welcoming, connected to the destination — and people who genuinely care about the experience we’re creating for our travelers.

From my first conversations with the Sokos team, I knew this was the kind of partnership I wanted for Finland.

I can already picture everyone arriving in Helsinki, settling in, and having that moment of:

We’re really here. ✨

Helsinki → Lapland → Porvoo
December 2027

2 spots remain.

Tomorrow, the scouting starts. 🌿

I’m heading to the Berkshires with a very full schedule, a lot of notes…and every expectation that some of those notes are about to change.

Because planning it on paper is one thing.

Seeing how the hotels, experiences, food, timing, and little details actually fit together is another.

Come scout it with me. ✨️

A beautiful bathroom has absolutely influenced my opinion of a hotel more than once. 😂

Yes, I’m checking the location, service, room, and all the practical details.

But if there’s a gorgeous tub, great light, and a bathroom that feels like its own little retreat? I’m listening. ✨

Tell me I’m not the only one — what’s the hotel feature that gets you every time? Drop it below 👇

The famous places are famous for a reason. But they’re not always the places I’d choose. 👀

Instead of Mykonos → Tinos
Instead of the Amalfi Coast → Ischia
Instead of Lake Como → Lake Orta

Same “wow, I’m in Europe” feeling — just with a little more room to actually experience it.

Which swap are you taking?

Save this for your next Europe trip. ✈️

Europe gets really interesting when you stop building the same itinerary as everyone else. 👀

I love the classics. But some of my favorite trips are the ones that go a little beyond the places we see over and over again.

Think alpine lakes in Slovenia, Spain’s wild northern coast, slow days in Puglia, hidden coves in Albania, and volcanic landscapes in the Azores.

Which one are you adding to your list? 👇

Save this for the next time Europe starts calling. ✨️

I spend a lot of time looking beyond the places everyone is already talking about.

And these five have my attention right now. 👀

🇦🇹 Carinthia, Austria
🇵🇹 Alentejo, Portugal
🇫🇮 Koli, Finland
🇬🇷 Syros, Greece
🇵🇷 Culebra, Puerto Rico

Beautiful landscapes, distinctive stays, slower moments, and a real sense of place — exactly the kind of destinations I love finding.

Which one would you choose first? 👇

Save this list. I have a feeling you’ll be hearing these names again...✈️

Europe, but a little differently. ✨

Madeira for dramatic coastlines, gardens, and island life.

Carinthia for alpine lakes, mountain spas, and slow mornings.

Finnish Lapland for snowy forests, sauna, and nights spent looking for the Northern Lights.

There are so many incredible places beyond the destinations we see over and over again — and these three are very high on my list.

Which one are you choosing? 👇

🇵🇹 Madeira
🇦🇹 Carinthia
🇫🇮 Finnish Lapland

Save this for the next time you’re craving somewhere different.

The Caribbean is so much more than beautiful beaches. 🌿

It’s waterfalls tucked into the rainforest, tropical gardens bursting with color, mountain trails, volcanic landscapes, and islands that feel completely different once you wander beyond the shoreline.

Dominica. St. Kitts. Martinique. Just a few reminders that some of the Caribbean’s best moments happen with your feet on the ground—not in the sand.

Which island would you explore first? 👇

The French Riviera, but make it slow. 🇫🇷✨

Mornings with nowhere to be. Lunch overlooking the Mediterranean. Tiny coastal roads, hidden corners, old stone walls, and days that somehow stop needing names.

This is the kind of Europe trip I love most — beautiful, unhurried, and full of moments you couldn’t have scheduled if you tried.

This… and not knowing what day it is. 💛

There’s so much to see in Japan, from hidden ports to iconic landmarks. 🇯🇵✨

Bustling cities. Quiet temples. Coastal towns. Incredible food. Places you’ve dreamed about — and places you may never have known to look for.

That’s what makes exploring Japan by cruise so appealing: you can experience so many different sides of the country in one thoughtfully connected journey.

Let Princess show you the way. ⛩️

And then let Katie Andrews Travel help you turn the sailing into the full experience — choosing the right itinerary, planning your time in port, and adding the details that make the trip feel completely your own.
