This kitchen still feels fresh, even though it was completed years ago.

Light grey cabinets create a soft, sophisticated foundation, while black and brass fixtures and window frames add contrast and warmth.

The marble counter and backsplash gives it some natural elegance but the overall vibe is easy and casual.

I love the family who lives in this home and I hope they still love their kitchen!

Spending Mother’s Day weekend right here at home is the greatest gift. But it would mean nothing without the people (and pups) who fill this house with joy and laughter.

Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend, surrounded by the ones you love.

I love how a statement door can set the entire design tone for a home or business. It’s more than just an entry—it’s an introduction.

A steel-and-glass door makes a bold, modern impression, while a weathered wood door tells a story rich with history and character.

Whatever the style, an interesting door sparks curiosity and stirs the imagination about the beauty waiting inside.

A coffee table should feel as inviting as the rest of your home—layered, personal, and full of character.

Stacked books, natural textures, and collected treasures make a space feel effortless yet intentional.

And fresh flowers are always a must!

When asked about my design style, I say I don’t have just one.

I appreciate most styles—as long as they’re done well.

In this home, my client’s antique family pieces set the tone. Instead of replacing them, we embraced their history, layering in soft textures and fresh details to create a timeless, collected feel.

Old meets new in the best way.

As an interior designer, I enjoy giving everyday pieces a fresh purpose. This china cabinet found a perfect home in the living room, styled to feel both functional and decorative.

Personal items like glassware and heirloom china deserve to be seen—and when thoughtfully arranged, they become a beautiful part of the design.

As an interior designer, I love pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful—like this collection of laminated photos from every stage of my life.

Friends and family always find familiar faces, sparking stories and shared memories. It’s decor, but more than that, it’s connection.

Looking back through old photos, I came across this one.

Although the space has since been redesigned, I still love the soft tones, natural light, soothing ceiling curve and simple serenity of this corner.

Lately, I’ve been brightening up my home with color, starting in the kitchen with small pops of vibrant hues.

I love a neutral kitchen (I have one myself!), but these colorful spaces have been catching my eye. If a full-on color commitment feels daunting, appliances, accessories and fresh produce, are easy ways to bring in cheerful tones without a major overhaul.

I’m sharing some inspiring colorful kitchens plus a few simple ways to refresh your space.

Art is more than decoration—it’s a story, a feeling, a reminder of a place or experience.

My home is a mix—some investment pieces, others thrifted—every piece tells a story, and these hold special memories for me:

1. .raimundofigueroa painting – The first art purchase my husband and I made together on a trip to Puerto Rico. We deliberated a lot, and now, it always brings me back to that time in our lives.
2. photograph – A reminder of my time in Laguna Beach
3. painting – gifted to my husband for his 50th birthday (and she’s my aunt!)
4. landscape - purchased in Santa Barbara after visiting the artist’s studio
5. Vintage find – The larger painting sourced on nearly 25 years ago, while the smaller pieces were collected on a trip to Spain and at

A home is built over time—so have fun collecting, and remember, it doesn’t have to be expensive to be valuable ✨

Every project I design starts with a mood board. It’s my first step, my guiding light, and the foundation of every creative decision that follows.

I begin by collecting images that support the concept—textures, colors, materials, and architectural elements that set the tone. Then, as the project evolves, I constantly refer back to the mood board to ensure that every selection aligns with the original vision.

It’s easy to think- I’m too busy, I don’t have time for that first step. But in reality, taking the time upfront makes everything easier. A clear concept streamlines decision-making, eliminates second-guessing, and creates a cohesive, intentional space.

Good design isn’t just about individual pieces—it’s about how everything works together. And for me, that process always starts with a mood board.

Do you use mood boards in your creative work? I’d love to hear how you start your projects!
