Interesting XLS figure captured over Micah. Seems like someone was just chilling & resting on his head before deciding to dip out. 😂

Have you ever wondered why we have beautiful portraits on the walls of the theatre?
Thats because all these people had something to do with this very building that left thier mark.

🎭 OSCAR WILDE STOOD ON THE STAGE OF THE SAVANNAH THEATRE 🎭

On July 5, 1882, Oscar Wilde came to Savannah during his famous American lecture tour. But he wasn't here to perform one of his plays, he was here to lecture on art and aesthetics, presenting his lecture “The Decorative Arts.”

The following morning, the Savannah Morning News reported on Wilde's appearance, noting that the theatre had been filled for the lecture. Another contemporary newspaper described Wilde's Savannah appearance as drawing a “very crowded house.” The articles are shown below of his time here at the theatre.

Oscar Wilde! One of the most recognizable literary figures of the 19th century, walked into this theatre, stood before a Savannah audience, and spent the evening talking about art, beauty and the decorative arts!

More than 140 years later, we're still standing in that same historic theatre, researching the people who walked these halls and investigating the stories left behind.

And that's exactly why we believe the history has to come before the ghost stories. 👻
