What looks perfect for toddlers might bore your teenagers. What's marketed as "family friendly" sometimes just means there's a kids' menu and nothing else.

She'd been dreaming about Italy and Greece for decades. This summer, she stopped dreaming and I'm making it happen.

A family of four is celebrating a milestone 50th birthday next summer the right way: a 7-night Greek Isles cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas — with a few days in Rome on either side to soak it all in.

First trip to Europe. First time abroad as a family. Two boys who are already counting down the days.

When a trip this big is on the line, the logistics matter just as much as the destination. I handle all of it — from finding the right hotel in Rome (with AC — trust me, it matters in July) to building in time for the Vatican, the Colosseum, and a pizza-making class they'll never forget, and more.

Three teenage girls. One cruise ship. Two sets of parents who wanted to actually relax — not spend the whole trip as chaperones.

When a mom reached out to plan a joint Sweet 16 for her twin daughters and their best friend, the vision was clear: something big, something memorable, something that would feel as special as the milestone deserved. The inspiration? Another family had taken her girls to Atlantis for a similar celebration — and the bar was officially set.

The challenge wasn't finding a cruise. It was finding the right ship — one with enough space and teen-specific entertainment that the girls could have their freedom, while the parents could actually exhale and enjoy their own vacation, while also fitting it into a busy summer schedule.

We landed on Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas. Connecting cabins so Mom and Dad are right next door (but not too next door 😄). Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Iconic pools and entertainment the teens will talk about for years.

Sixteen is a big deal. It deserves more than a party - it deserves an experience.
