And that #1 spot isn’t particularly close. 😂❤️

I Lava You Float is one of those things I start thinking about before we even leave for Disney.

Now I KNOW there are Disney snacks and drinks out there I haven’t tried yet, so I need my Disney people to help me with some very important research. 👀😂

One thing I wish more families knew about choosing a Disney resort:

More expensive doesn’t automatically mean “better.”

Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of those resorts where the RESORT is part of the vacation. 🦒❤️

Waking up and seeing animals outside. Exploring the resort. The pools. The restaurants. The atmosphere.

When we stayed here, we weren’t just paying for somewhere to sleep. Staying here was an experience.

But here’s the part people don’t always expect a travel advisor to tell them…

If you tell me you’re going to leave your room first thing in the morning, spend ALL DAY in the parks, and come back completely exhausted just to shower and sleep?

I’m probably not telling you to spend the extra money. 😂

Give me Pop Century. 🙌

It’s fun, it’s Disney, I love having Skyliner access, and for a park-heavy family, I’d rather help you put that money toward something you’ll actually enjoy.

That’s why there’s no single “best” Disney resort.

There’s only the best resort for the way YOUR family vacations. 🏰✨

And that’s one of the first things I want to figure out when I’m helping you plan. ❤️

I think about this more and more as Izzy gets older. ❤️

There will ALWAYS be a reason to wait.

Work is busy. PTO is limited. School matters. Sports matter. Money matters. Schedules are crazy.

And somehow another year passes.

I don’t want to look back someday and realize we spent so much time waiting for the “right time” that we missed the time we actually had.

I want the beach days. 🌊
The Disney mornings. 🏰
The road trips.
The cruises. 🚢
The places we’ve never seen before.
The ridiculous family stories that we’ll tell for the next 30 years.

They don’t all have to be huge vacations. They don’t have to be perfect. And they certainly don’t have to be Instagram-worthy.

I just want us to go.

Because work, school and sports are important.

But so is showing our kids the world.

So is being together.

So are the memories. ❤️

Here’s to saying “someday” a little less often. ✈️

🔥 TRAVEL HOT TAKE:

Sometimes taking your kids out of school for a family vacation is 100% worth it.

AND I WORK IN EDUCATION. 👀😂

Before anyone comes for me…notice I said sometimes. 😂

School matters. Attendance matters. And obviously every child, family and situation is different.

But I also believe there are things our kids learn and experience outside of a classroom that matter, too.

Traveling somewhere new. Experiencing another culture. Trying something they’re nervous about. Navigating an airport. Seeing the ocean. Spending uninterrupted time with grandparents. Having both parents completely present. Making the kind of family memories they’ll talk about years later.

And sometimes traveling during the school year can mean a trip is actually possible for a family when it otherwise wouldn’t be.

Would I pull my child out constantly? No.

Would I pull her out occasionally for a meaningful family experience?

Yep. ✈️😂

We can’t ALWAYS go to Disney. 😂🏰

So sometimes we have to make a little magic a short drive from home. 💕🌊

Today’s adventure: Point Pleasant with Mom, Dad, Georgie & Izzy. ☀️

No itinerary. No dining reservations. No Lightning Lanes. 😂 Just toes in the sand, waves crashing, digging holes on the beach, and spending a Sunday together.

As much as I love the BIG trips and the countdowns and all the planning that comes with them, I really love days like this too.

Because not every memory has to come with a plane ticket.

Sometimes you pack up the car, drive to the beach, and make a little magic exactly where you are. ☀️🌊💕

🎄 “Okay… I know we’re REALLY late, but is there ANY chance we could still go to Disney for the holidays this year?”

YES. 👀🏰✨

In fact, I’m currently helping families plan Disney World vacations for November and December THIS YEAR.

Would I have told you to start planning earlier?

Absolutely. 😂

Will you necessarily have every resort, room type, dining reservation or option that you would have had months ago?

Nope.

But does that mean you missed your chance completely?

Not necessarily.

And honestly, this is one of my favorite kinds of travel-advisor puzzles. 😂

Tell me your dates, who’s traveling, your budget and what’s most important to your family, and let me see what we can put together.

Because sometimes “We’re probably too late…” turns into:

One thing I wish more people knew before their first Disney World vacation?

You don't need to know EVERYTHING about Disney.

Seriously. 😂

You don't need to memorize every ride, study park maps like you're preparing for an exam, join 14 Facebook groups or develop a strong opinion about Lightning Lane before you've even booked your hotel.

But there ARE a few decisions that can make a huge difference in how your vacation feels.

Because the goal isn't to come home saying, "We did everything."

It's to come home saying, "That was SO much fun. When can we go back?" 🥹🏰✨

As a Disney-loving mom AND a travel advisor, that's what I want for my families.

A trip that fits your kids, your budget, your priorities and the way YOUR family actually vacations.

Not somebody else's perfectly color-coded Disney itinerary. 😂

So save these three before you start planning.
