One of the best things about our Mount Baker Intro to Mountaineering is seeing new climbers get excited about big peaks. When that comes together with beautiful summit conditions it's even better. Thanks for a great trip team, we can't wait to see what you get up to next!

"What's the best time to climb?" is one of the most common questions we receive and there's no simple answer, it all comes down to you and your priorities. What's most important to you?

From May to mid-June, the seasonal snowpack persists in the North Cascades, making for a longer approach hike, but a more straightforward summit climb on many of our major peaks.

From mid-June to mid-August, we see (on average) our most stable weather windows. The glaciers are beginning to open up, but the heat reflecting off of them can be intense. Don't forget sunscreen!

From mid-August through September, things begin to cool off again. Climbing conditions are fun as the crevasses are large and apparent, and climbers see a ton of exposed glacial ice while ascending.

The 2-Day Mount Baker climb is great for peakbaggers who have some prior mountaineering experience, and excellent physical fitness who're prepared to learn on the go. Fast and light is the name of the game on this itinerary; it's all about the climb!

Spots are going fast but you'll find dates available from June through August.
