US441/Newfound Gap Road is closed until further notice due to a slide that occurred overnight following heavy rain. The slide is between mile marker 12 and 13 on the Tennessee side of the park (south of Alum Cave Trailhead).

National Park Service and Federal Highway Administration engineers are currently assessing the damage. The park will share more information as it’s available.
