Favorite sea animal: Dall’s Porpoise

Emma is in her fourth season with Liquid Adventures, splitting her time between deckhand duties aboard the Oceanna and guiding kayak adventures among the tidewater glaciers of Kenai Fjords. Having recently earned her pilot’s license, she’s excited to experience these incredible landscapes from an entirely new perspective. When she’s not on the water, you’ll likely find Emma hiking a mountain trail, exploring the backcountry, or taking a polar plunge.

Hometown: Northern Illinois

Favorite Sea Animal: I had loved killer whales my whole life so I am in the right place

While attending college in Utah, I began learning to backpack, raft, climb, snowboard, and canyoneer and have never looked back. It’s the unparalleled freedom and adventure that keeps me pursuing a career in the outdoors. I have been lucky enough to kayak guide in Washington, canyon guide in New Zealand, and explore many other amazing places through the outdoors. I first fell in love with Alaska two summers ago and am so glad to be back.

Background: Al lives in Alaska now year-round after many seasons of bouncing around all across the country. They love adopting new hobbies, but always take time to enjoy the scenery. They have a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science and love acquiring new knowledge about wildlife, medicinal plants, and geology. Ready for any adventure, but will likely try to receuite you to jump in the cold water too.

Background: Get ready to explore with a guide who truly loves Alaska! They’ve been a sea kayak guide for four years, and this is their second season discovering the wonders of Seward. They came to Alaska specifically to experience its unparalleled wilderness and encounter its magnificent wildlife. In their downtime, they enjoy the challenge of trail running and have even dabbled in ice climbing. Quinn will be leaving this summer to transition from the guiding community to nursing.

This program is FREE for Seward and Moose Pass resident youth grades 6-12
(ages 11-17)

Now in its fifth year, this experience is made possible through our ongoing partnership with@liquid_adventures , a trusted community partner that supports youth in many ways here in Seward. Together, we’ve created meaningful outdoor opportunities for teens that strengthen protective factors like confidence, resilience, peer connection, and a sense of belonging.
