Our 13U players and coaches wrapped up their W-SR USSSA travel baseball careers this past weekend, competing in the 13AA Elite Division at the USSSA Iowa State Baseball Tournament. Despite some injuries, this team battled tough all season. We wish to thank the players, families and coaches for their commitment to Go-Hawk baseball as members of the W-SR Youth Baseball Club these past six years!

Our 12U team put together a great tournament run and ended up taking 4th place in the 12AA Elite Gold Bracket at the USSSA Iowa State Baseball Tournament this past weekend. Congrats on a great season, players and coaches!

ATTENTION!

Due to the WSR high school baseball team playing in the substate final Wednesday night at North Polk, we have decided to move the 2027 competitive baseball tryouts to Thursday, 7/16/2026, at Cedar River Park at the same time, 5-8PM. We are still planning on holding a makeup tryout on Wednesday, 7/22/2026, at 5PM at Cedar River Park if you are not able to come on 7/16. Please help us spread the word!

We apologize for this late change, but we feel it is important to support our high school program in their quest for a state tournament berth. Best of luck to Coach Pirkl and the Go-Hawks Wednesday night!

REMINDER!

2027 Competitive Baseball Tryouts will be held Thursday, 7/16/2026, at Cedar River Park.

5:00-6:30PM: 8U, 9U, 10U
6:30-8:00PM: 11U, 12U, 13U

To be eligible for tryouts, participants must attend WSR schools or live in the WSR school district and plan to play high school baseball for Waverly-Shell Rock.

Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is highly encouraged. You can register at the link below. There is no cost to attend.

Tryouts will be scored by Wartburg College baseball players and staff.
