Around 50 teams competed in the KQ Sports Bases Loaded Bash tournament this past weekend at Cedar River Park and Kiwanis Park, bringing several hundred visitors to town. This kind of event cannot happen without the help of several folks behind the scenes.

A special thank you goes out to the following individuals/groups for their assistance with field maintenance, emptying garbages, and everything else needed to keep things moving smoothly:
Greg Westendorf, Rich Ryan, Steve Nus, Jared Pirkl, Nick Heims, Rob Welter, parents of the 11U and 10U WSR teams and members of the WSR high school baseball team.

Also, we wish to thank Chuck Brittain and the Greater Waverly Kiwanis Club for keeping players, coaches and fans well fed and hydrated through the concession stand.

We will be hosting one more baseball tournament in Waverly this year on June 6th and 7th.

After Friday night’s storms, the fields at Cedar River Park and Kiwanis needed to be re-chalked before the KQ Sports Bases Loaded Bash tournament games started at 8:00 Saturday morning. Special thanks to Greg Westendorf, Rob Welter, Mike Langreck and Jordan Alborn for getting the fields ready to go!

A huge shout out to all the coaches, kiddos and parents for an almost seamless picture night!

It's a huge undertaking with 200+ kiddos in 20 teams but we did it... together.

Thank you for your patience and possibly a small detour to the pic location, but that only meant more quality time with your family and enjoyment of our amazing CRP right?!?

Earlier this month, W-SR Go-Hawk Baseball put on a camp for our youth baseball players. Led by W-SR varsity head coach, Jared Pirkl, this 2-day camp provided attendees with instruction, drills and lots of FUN! The future of Go-Hawk baseball is bright!

The WSRBBSB Club was proud to host the Annual Don Roeder Umpire Academy on April 11th. 19 young men and women received instruction and mentoring from 3 local umpires on both baseball and softball rules. They were then able to put their skills to the test during some live scrimmages. We wish to thank Barb Roeder for her continued financial support of the academy in memory of her late husband, Don Roeder. His legacy lives on in the next generation of umpires!
