From East Pond Assocation -
Hello East Pond neighbors,
As we head into another summer on the lake, I wanted to share a few opportunities to help protect East Pond from invasive aquatic plants.
Our first Plant Paddle of the season will take place on June 6. Plant paddles are a great way to learn more about the lake, spend time on the water, and help monitor for invasive plants. If you’re interested in participating, please contact Sharon Mann at [email protected].
Stay tuned for a second plant paddle later in the summer, and meanwhile here are other ways you can help protect our lake against invasive aquatics:
If you are part of the Adopt-a-Shoreline program, please remember to complete your shoreline survey. If you need an updated reporting form or have questions about reporting, Sharon can help with that as well.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with Courtesy Boat Inspections this summer. These inspections help prevent invasive plants from entering the lake by checking boats and trailers before launch. Training is provided, and volunteers play an important role in protecting the health of East Pond. If you’re interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact me directly.
Thank you for helping care for East Pond.
