Here's a simple one that can save you a lot of frustration when you're traveling...

Screenshot it before you need it!

Before you leave your hotel Wi-Fi or head out for an excursion, take screenshots of anything you might need later:

• Tour or excursion confirmations
• Meeting points and pickup instructions
• Hotel name and address
• Train or ferry tickets
• Rental car information
• Important QR codes or tickets

Don't assume you'll have cell service exactly when you need it. Screenshots are still there even when your signal isn't!

It takes a minute before you leave and can save you a whole lot of aggravation later.

Here's one that can save you from a very annoying detour...
When you're heading to your hotel, don't just type the hotel name into your GPS and hit start. Hotel chains often have multiple locations in the same area, and sometimes the names are almost identical.
Before you start driving, take a few seconds to compare the street address and city in your reservation with what's showing on your map.
It takes about five seconds... and it's a whole lot better than realizing 30 minutes later that you're headed to the wrong Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, or Hampton Inn!
Little tips can make a big difference when you travel.

This is my hotel bathroom last night (and tonight).
Hotel rooms can get surprisingly dark in the middle of the night. A small strand of battery-operated fairy lights gives you just enough light to find your way without stubbing a toe—or waking everyone else by turning on the bathroom light.
Sometimes it's the little things that make traveling more comfortable.

Before you head out on your next adventure, take five minutes to check your cell phone plan.

If you're traveling internationally, don't assume your current plan includes data, calls, and texting abroad. A quick check with your provider before you leave can help you avoid unexpected charges when you get home.

One more thing if you're taking a cruise: your phone may automatically connect to the ship's cellular network while you're at sea. Unless you've purchased a cruise package or turned on Airplane Mode, those roaming charges can add up quickly.

A few minutes of preparation now can save you from a very expensive surprise later.
