Excelsior! Your favorite physicist returns for a Hollywood sequel.

We're thrilled to be working once again with the brilliant Dr. James Kakalios: physicist, author, and the real-life Professor X (but with better hair and less telepathy).

Glenn first met Jim at Comic-Con 2007, when he was there in his role as creator of the Watchmen fan site. He's stayed in touch ever since, and we had the pleasure of building his website a while back.

Now, he’s back with a brand-new book: The Physics of Superheroes Goes Hollywood, hitting shelves on September 16, 2025, and it’s exactly what you’d expect from the guy who once explained quantum tunneling using Shadowcat from the X-Men.

From Black Panther’s kinetic suit to Superman’s time tricks to the cold, hard science behind Captain Cold, Jim breaks down the real-world physics behind your favorite superhero films and shows. And yes, Spider-Man’s webbing makes another glorious appearance.

We're excited to dive back into the Batcave - er, code cave - to update his site for this epic release. Nuff said.
