Looking for people to travel with? 🧳

There's a travel club right here in Chattanooga. The Awaken Travel Club is a group of local people who love to travel, and you don't need a trip booked with us to join in.

We get together for coffee and travel talk, and every so often we take a day trip together.

Our holiday get-together is a Downtown Christmas Walk on Thursday, December 17 at 4:30pm, starting at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

First-timers are always welcome, and so is bringing a friend. There's nothing to pay.

Check your passport early, before you book a big trip.

Three quick checks:
The date. Many trips need your passport to be good for 6 months after you get home, and the rule depends on where you go.
The name. Your booking must match your passport, letter for letter, so tell us if your name has changed.
The time. Getting a new passport takes time, so look at the expiry date before you book.

We look at every traveler's passport date too. Rules can change, so we check them for your trip.

Celebrity Reflection is getting an update, and the new version starts sailing in March 2027. Celebrity says it adds 13 new spaces: a new pool club with burgers and a taco stand, a three-story Grand Plaza with a Martini Bar, a top-deck park with outdoor movies and cabanas, and new Italian and steakhouse restaurants.

It sails all year from Fort Lauderdale, including three- and four-night trips to Key West and the Bahamas, which makes an easy long weekend.

A REAL ID, a passport card and a passport book are three different documents, and they don't all get you to the same places.

Here is the short version:

REAL ID (look for the star on your driver's license)
Gets you through TSA for flights inside the U.S. It is not for border crossings or international travel.

Passport card
Also works at TSA for domestic flights. It lets you come back into the U.S. by land or sea from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and some Caribbean destinations. It is not valid for international flights.

Passport book
Works for international travel by air, sea or land. This is the one you need for any international flight.

If you are cruising to Mexico or the Caribbean, I still recommend the book. If you ever had to fly home from a foreign port, the card would not get you on that plane.

Two more things:
Since February 1, 2026, travelers who get to the TSA checkpoint without an acceptable ID can pay a $45 fee to use TSA ConfirmID.
Kids under 18 don't need ID for flights within the U.S.
