Let’s meet the Krew! 🤙

Meet Ryonn - retired Air Force veteran and the appointed Captain of Compliance aboard the Kanaloa at Big Kahuna Cruises. With steady hands and island vibes, he keeps the good times flowing and ensures the Kanaloa is cruising smooth through the Southern Maryland creeks (with a paint job always kept pristinely on point.)

From safety checks to calm waters, Ryonn makes sure every cruise is filled with tropical breezes, great views, and smooth sailing.

He may confidently give you the wrong bartender’s name, but he’s an expert on the waters we cruise through. Feel free to ask him anything about the history of the creeks - you might get a story you didn’t know you needed. Don’t be surprised if you catch him dancing in the back of the boat. When Ryonn’s in charge, the vibes are always high and the sailing is always smooth.

Weather on the water can change quickly here in Solomons, so we don’t usually make the final call to cancel a cruise until closer to and sometimes right up until the time of the event. Safety is always our top priority at Big Kahuna Cruises.

If Big Kahuna Cruises cancels due to weather or unsafe conditions, guests can choose either a full refund or a rebooked cruise. Guests who need to cancel their reservation please do it 48+ hours in advance to receive a rebooking.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we navigate the sometimes finicky Patuxent River weather! 🌺

The Bar Princess is effortlessly charming, impossible to outshine, and somehow always just one minor injury away from a storytime moment 😂 (Seriously… if there’s a way to trip, bump, bruise, or spill something, Emi has probably done it — all with a smile on her face.)

When she’s not behind the bar mixing your favorite drinks and keeping the vibes high, she’s helping bring Big Kahuna Cruises to life online! From creating and organizing the content you see on social media to capturing all the unforgettable moments aboard, Emi helps keep the island vibes flowing both on and off the boat. You can also find her on the mat, teaching yoga!
