Opened my drone case in South Haven Saturday to capture the sunset and things didn’t go my way, the wind took my SD cards and the sand owns them now.

I joined my wife along the Maumee River in downtown Toledo today to help her find locations for a senior photo session she has coming up.
We happened to show up after it appears that someone fell or jumped off the bridge into the river below.
Despite the huge efforts of the fire, police, divers, drones and the coast guard helicopter pictured here, doesn’t seem like this one has a happy ending.
Tragic circumstances, but I couldn’t help but pull over to photograph the effort being made.

I was recently informed that this tower has since been torn down. Sad, I’m glad I finally made it out there.

The Seul Choix Pointe sits in the Northwest corner of . The station was established in 1892 and was automated in 1972.
Seul Choix (pronounced Sis-shwa) means “only choice” as it’s the only harbor along this treacherous coast.

Recently I was intrigued by the two story tower that sat along the railroad tracks practically in my backyard.
So I started some research.
Meet DIANN.
DIANN today is an old abandoned building in the middle of nowhere between Dundee and Ida, littered with graffiti and broken glass.
From 1926-1988 DIANN was an interlocked grade crossing of the Detroit to Ironton, OH DT&I line (DI) and the Toledo to Frankfort main line of Ann Arbor railroad (ANN).
The crossing was built during Fords ownership of DT&I.
This crossing saw train traffic roughly every 30 minutes in the years that followed, today I rarely hear a train.

Haven’t flown my drone in months, but I couldn’t resist catching this over the Mississippi River in last weekend.
