Lanie's Firefighter Fund

Lanie's Firefighter Fund Lanie Lambert is an 11 year old spunky girl with Asperger disorder who has a love for firefighters. "Can we help?" she said.

She has a goal to send a firefighter and their family on a vacation this year. Life with Asperger disorder has it's challenges but Lanie does pretty great anyway! She loves cats, her pet fish "Flounder" and most of all everything and everything to do with firefighters. During a visit to our local fire station Lanie overheard a conversation between her dad and one of her hero firefighters about vac

ations (the lack thereof). The next day she asked her dad why her hero isn't able to go on vacations as much as he would like. After hearing all the answers that ranged between "not enough time" to "needing to save more money" a plan was hatched inside that beautiful little head. So here we are... We're hoping to raise money to send one firefighter and their family on vacation this year. If we're successful, we'll keep on going until we can touch the lives of as many of our hero-first-responders as we can. Because sometimes even heroes need some help!

We did it! Our fund helped feed almost 200 people at the South Jordan Firefighters Station #61 as they put their brand new Fire Engine and Ladder into service. What an awesome event and the BBQ was delicious! Thank you to all who donated to make it a great event!

This Saturday, The South Jordan Fire Department invites you to the traditional "housing ceremony" and unveiling of the new fire engine and ladder truck. Come check it out!

August 29, 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Kids are invited to help wash the fire truck wheels. Food and refreshments provided.
