Step into a world like no other – where the sky meets the earth on the largest salt flat in the world.

Located on the Bolivian High Plateau, Salar de Uyuni is a breathtaking sight that will leave you in awe. This vast expanse of salt stretches as far as the eye can see, with hexagonal patterns shimmering beneath a clear blue sky. In the middle of it all lies Incahuasi Island, home to towering cacti, some over 100 years old and reaching heights of 40 feet. The salt flats are a marvel in every season, but during the rainy season, they transform into the world’s largest natural mirror, reflecting the sky in a way you have to see to believe. At sunset, the entire landscape becomes a surreal masterpiece, making it feel like you're walking on clouds.

Hey everyone! My name is Heather, and I’ve been a passionate vegan traveler for the past eight years. I’d love to share some of my story with you and my journey into veganism.

When I was in high school, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. As a part of her treatment, she ate an entirely plant-based diet. Because of this, I realized just how important it is to make conscious decisions about what we eat and put into our bodies. I didn’t become a vegan immediately, but it changed me to eat healthier and learn about environmental issues. One thing I learned was that animal farming is a top contributor to global warming, and in that learning process, I also discovered the cruelty that animals face during this process. That was the turning point of my life and the moment I became a vegan.

Thus, Skyring Travel was born. Not only did I want to share my travel experiences with the world, but my vegan lifestyle, too. One of my passions is crafting exceptional vegan travel experiences, exactly what you get at Skyring Travel. I’m constantly inspired by cookbooks, food, and wildlife, which catalyzes traveling. Traveling as a vegan isn’t always easy, so I feel it’s important to share the challenges of traveling the world. It’s both challenging and rewarding. I’ve personally experienced the disappointment of limited options, the time-consuming research in finding suitable accommodations and restaurants, and the stress of navigating unfamiliar environments with dietary preferences. But no one wants to do that while on vacation, which is where I come in. Think of me as your travel matchmaker! Save this post for later, it will come in handy 📌

✅ Stick to neutrals and solids that you can mix and match.

✅ Use the KonMari folding method- it's a game changer and makes your suitcase look pretty. Packing light and airy fabrics also helps.

✅ Get a good set of packing cubes, even better if they are the compressible kind. Bonus- cubes help to separate clean and dirty clothes when going back home.

✅ Skip bulky purses and bring packable bags and backpacks instead. I like to pack my toiletries in my backpack. That way I can do a little self care during the flight and free up space in my suitcase for clothes, shoes, etc.

✅ Wear bulky items like sneakers and jackets on the plane. A jacket comes in handy when the plane gets chilly!
