Another week. Another stamp in our Scents & Suitcases passport. 🧳🌎

And this week took us all the way to...

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 SCOTLAND!

We started in historic Edinburgh, but we definitely DIDN'T stay there. 😂

We headed out into the Highlands and discovered a Scotland filled with...

🏰 Ancient castles
⛰️ Dramatic mountains and glens
🌊 Beautiful lochs
🚗 Winding roads made for exploring
🌿 The wild landscapes of the Isle of Skye
🚂 Scenic train journeys
🍻 Cozy pubs and stone cottages
🦕 And, obviously, a little searching for Nessie

And while Christina showed us how to EXPERIENCE Scotland, The Scent Society by Lacey showed us what Scotland might SMELL like. ✨

🌲 WILD PINE & LINEN

Fresh. Clean. Outdoorsy.

This was our breath of cool Highland air, surrounded by evergreen forests and wide-open countryside.

🍂 AUTUMN ROAD TRIP

Crisp fruit. Forest air. Oakmoss. Treemoss.

This one put us right in the car with the windows cracked, driving through the Highlands with absolutely NO reason to hurry.

🔥 WELCOME HOME

Warm cinnamon. Nutmeg. Clove.

And after all that exploring?

This was our cozy Scottish evening.

Stone cottage. Fireplace going. Rain tapping against the window.

Yeah...we're staying in. 😂🔥

Scotland gave us THREE completely different moods this week...

🌲 BREATHE IT IN.
🚗 DRIVE THROUGH IT.
🔥 COZY UP IN IT.

And THAT is exactly what Scents & Suitcases is all about.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨ SCENTS & SUITCASES: BUILD YOUR SCOTLAND ADVENTURE!

So you've officially decided Scotland needs to move higher on the travel list.

Now comes the question...

HOW LONG DO YOU NEED?! 😂

For a first trip, I'd want around 7–10 days if possible.

Enough time to experience the cities AND get out into the landscapes Scotland is famous for.

One itinerary could look something like...

🏰 DAYS 1–2: EDINBURGH

Explore Edinburgh Castle, walk the Royal Mile, wander Old Town and give yourself time to actually enjoy the city instead of racing through it.

🚗 DAY 3: EDINBURGH → HIGHLANDS

Pick up the car and head north.

And don't treat this like a "get there as fast as possible" drive.

The drive IS part of the vacation.

⛰️ DAYS 4–5: GLENCOE + FORT WILLIAM

This is where Scotland turns the drama ALL the way up.

Mountains. Waterfalls. Lochs. Scenic overlooks.

You're going to need extra storage on your phone. 😂📸

🌿 DAYS 6–7: ISLE OF SKYE

Give yourself time here.

See the Fairy Pools, dramatic cliffs, colorful Portree and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Scotland.

🌊 DAY 8: LOCH NESS + INVERNESS

Go looking for Nessie because obviously we have to. 😂

🏙️ DAYS 9–10: GLASGOW OR BACK TO EDINBURGH

Finish with another taste of city life before heading home.

And here's the important part...

Your Scotland trip DOESN'T have to look exactly like this.

Maybe you're obsessed with castles.

Okay, we talked about FOOD last week...

So this week we're doing the exact opposite of sitting peacefully at dinner. 😂

"You know what this needs? A slide through TWELVE DECKS." 😳

And honestly? I'm here for it.

MSC World Asia is getting a HUGE dry slide that twists its way through the ship and is set to be the longest dry slide at sea!

You'll be able to slide between 12 decks in SECONDS.

And yes.

I will absolutely be riding it. 😂

But that's just the beginning.

Edinburgh is AMAZING.

The castle. The Royal Mile. The cobblestone streets. The history.

You absolutely should see it.

But please don't fly all the way to Scotland, spend a few days in Edinburgh and think you've seen Scotland. 😂

Because once you leave the city...

THAT'S when Scotland starts showing off.

🏰 EDINBURGH

Give yourself time to explore Edinburgh Castle, wander the Royal Mile, visit the historic Old Town and just soak up the atmosphere.

Then...

🚗 HEAD NORTH.

⛰️ THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

This is the Scotland you've probably been imagining.

Mountains. Glens. Lochs. Tiny villages. Castles appearing out of nowhere.

And YES...

🌊 LOCH NESS

Even if Nessie refuses to make an appearance, the scenery alone makes the trip worth it.

One of those places where you keep looking out the window thinking, "WAIT. Stop the car."

A fantastic base for exploring the Highlands, and this area is also home to one of Scotland's most famous train experiences.

Cliffs. Waterfalls. Fairy pools. Tiny villages. Wild landscapes.

Scotland isn't really a "pick one city and stay there" destination.
