Spotting a deer along the shoreline on our clear kayak ecotours always catches people by surprise. White-tailed deer are strong swimmers and often swim across the river to find food, and move across their home. They may seem out of place but they’re an important part of Florida’s ecosystems.

Caught in the act: one very curious raccoon giving our clear kayak tour a full inspection. 👀🛶

Same river, completely different view 😎🌊

Without polarized sunglasses, all you see is glare from the sun off the water. Add them, and suddenly you can see straight through the surface like that manatee cruising right under the kayak.

Polarized lenses cut the reflected light off the water, which is what lets you actually spot wildlife below.

It’s not unusual to see both dolphins and manatees sharing the same water but rarely do we capture them all together in one video!

Manatees are slow-moving herbivores that graze on aquatic plants, while dolphins are active predators often moving through to hunt fish! Two very different lifestyles crossing paths in the same river system.

Seeing both on one paddle is a pretty great reminder of how diverse and alive these waterways are. We keep our distance, stay quiet, and let them do their thing, which is when the best moments happen. 🌊🚣‍♀️✨
