On the latest from The Wild Explorer (aka Roxy)...

Shenandoah National Park is a beautiful experience that everyone should see once in their lives.

However, to truly connect with the locations that are National Park Service run, you need to learn the history of what happened before you stepped on the trail.

Did you know that Native Americans roamed the lands of this national park for AT LEAST 11,000 years?!

There is evidence that date them back to the last Ice Age in the area! Pretty wild!

Indigenous groups that lived and traded amongst the valley and mountains include:

Paleo-Indians
Monacans
Manahoacs
Shawnee
Cherokee
Iroquois

I am in the middle of creative something huge that will not only tell the story of the land, but give you everything you need to know about visiting Shenandoah!

Just remember:

The stories and history of every location is what make it memorable and worthwhile.
