Dreaming of a European summer holiday, but dreading packing and unpacking? Want to see the sights, but keep the kids happy? Have too many countries on your list and not enough time to see them? A Mediterranean cruise could be the answer. Med cruises offer a great way to sample several destinations without packing / unpacking and checking in / out every few days. Sure this isn’t the best option if you want to immerse yourself in one spot for an extended period, but it’s a great opportunity to have some fun and also see which places you’d like to come back to! My client planned to book with AMEX travel for their upcoming trip to Bordeaux in order to get the $300 statement credit for this pre-paid booking (available twice per year for platinum card holders). I was able to book direct with the hotel, take advantage of a 4th night free offer, apply my benefits, beat the AMEX rate by over $350 (so it’s still cheaper than AMEX with statement credit) and he gets his loyalty points and doesn’t need to pre-pay. Now he gets a great deal at this fabulous property and can use his $300 credit for another booking that isn’t a preferred partner of mine! 10/10.

I love a points opportunity and absolutely want to max out credit card benefits / rewards (those annual fees are no joke), but I can help you choose when it makes the most sense. Plus, my client still used his AMEX to book this room, so he’ll earn the AMEX points AND hotel loyalty points when he pays at check-out. Love to see it!
