Classes utilize contemporary teaching methods to motivate the various content areas. The Fight Sciences Research Institute is dedicated to providing high quality fighting and self protection skills training to responsible adult students and to promoting research related to the various fighting arts and disciplines. Regular classes are held in the states of Missouri and Virginia. FSRI organically d

eveloped out of The Karate Research Institute (TKRI)- a karate based organization. In response to the needs of our students we carefully re-examined our pedagogy and practice. Sports science and psychology, the psychology of combat, contemporary pedagogical theory, as well as advancements in the fields of personal combatives and self defense training have all influenced our methods and culture. This is an ongoing process. FSRI classes include units devoted to a variety of striking, grappling, escape and evasion skills as well as affective and situational training, designed to help prepare members physically and psychologically to be able to use these skills in difficult and dynamic environments.
