What's next for the MetroLink Single-Car Pilot?

UPDATE: MetroLink has resumed operation between the 5th & Missouri and Fairview Heights Stations. Bus shuttles are cancelled.

PREVIOUS: MetroLink trains are currently not operating between the 5th & Missouri and Fairview Heights Stations. MetroLink Station Shuttles are transporting riders by bus between the 5th & Missouri, Emerson Park, JJK Center, Washington Park and Fairview Heights Stations. Riders traveling through this area may experience delays of 30+ minutes.

This is in relation to the damaged overhead catenary system that continues to impact MetroLink service throughout the system. Our apologies for the disruption to your service this morning.

UPDATE: MetroLink power has been restored. Blue Line MetroLink service is currently being restored between the Shrewsbury and Fairview Heights MetroLink Stations, and single-car trains are being replaced by two-car trains. Please note the use of single-car trains this morning was necessary due to limited availability of light rail vehicles, and was not related to the single-car train pilot.

Riders may continue to experience residual delays as MetroLink returns to regular operations over the next couple hours.

PREVIOUS: MetroLink riders should expect delays of up to 20-25 minutes and all single-car trains this morning while crews repair a section of the overhead catenary system that powers MetroLink, which was damaged overnight. Blue Line MetroLink trains are only operating between the Shrewsbury and Forest Park-DeBaliviere Stations at this time.

MetroLink will operate single-car trains during morning service as the damage to the catenary power system has limited the number of available trains. This operation is not related to the single-car MetroLink train pilot.

Heads up, MetroLink riders! Beginning Monday, November 2 through December 23, Blue Line trains will only operate between Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 and Forest Park-DeBaliviere as crews continue critical rehabilitation work in the Union Station Tunnel.

We encourage customers to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and stay informed about upcoming service changes.
