Standing on the “Balcony of Europe” in Luxembourg City! 🇱🇺

And you can see why it earned that nickname! The views over the historic Grund district are absolutely incredible.

One of the things I love about Luxembourg is how much history is packed into such a small place. This city was once one of the most heavily fortified in Europe, earning it the nickname “Gibraltar of the North.”

It’s places like this that remind me why I love exploring Europe so much. Amazing scenery, fascinating history, and something new to discover around every corner.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2026! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What an incredible experience watching this iconic Scottish tradition unfold against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle!

From the sound of the massed pipes and drums to the incredible performances from around the world, the Tattoo is truly something special and it’s different every year.

One of the highlights of my time in Edinburgh this summer for certain. If you’re planning a trip to Scotland next August, put this one on your list!

Hard to beat this view in Taormina, Sicily! 🇮🇹

The ancient Greek Theater dates back to the 3rd century BC, and the views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea are just incredible. Nearly 2,300 years later, it’s still one of the most spectacular settings in Sicily.

📍Holy Island, Northumberland, England

Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island, is one of the most fascinating places I’ve visited in northern England.

This small tidal island off the Northumberland coast has an incredible history stretching back nearly 1,400 years. Founded as a monastery in AD 635, Lindisfarne became one of the most important centers of early Christianity in Britain. It’s also where the famous Lindisfarne Gospels were created and where a Viking raid in 793 helped usher in the Viking Age in Britain and Europe.

What makes the island even more interesting is that you can only reach it when the tide is out. Twice a day, the sea covers the causeway, cutting the island off from the mainland.

Between the medieval priory ruins, the castle, and the rugged coastline, this is a place I’d highly recommend for anyone interested in British history and natural beauty.

Walking the medieval walls of Óbidos, Portugal! 🇵🇹🏰

Just an hour north of Lisbon, Óbidos is one of Portugal’s most charming and beautifully preserved medieval towns. Surrounded by centuries-old fortified walls, this historic village feels like stepping straight back into the Middle Ages.

Once a royal wedding gift to Portuguese queens, Óbidos is filled with narrow cobblestone lanes, whitewashed houses decorated with colorful flowers, and layers of fascinating history.

One of the best experiences is walking along the ancient castle walls, where you get incredible views over the terracotta rooftops and surrounding countryside. Just watch your step — there are no railings!

And no visit is complete without trying Ginjinha, Portugal’s famous sour cherry liqueur, traditionally served here in a little edible chocolate cup. 🍒🍫

History, incredible views, and a little cherry liqueur — Óbidos is a perfect example of why I love exploring Europe’s smaller historic towns!

Just above the famous town of Taormina sits one of Sicily’s most incredible hidden gems 🇮🇹

Welcome to Castelmola! A tiny medieval village perched high above the Ionian Sea, with winding stone streets, ancient castle ruins, and some of the most spectacular views in Sicily.

With roots stretching back thousands of years, Castelmola is the kind of place that reminds you why exploring beyond the usual tourist stops is so rewarding.

And if you visit, don’t miss a glass of the village’s famous almond w**e! 🍷

With its ancient stone streets, Norman castle, breathtaking coastal views, and history stretching back thousands of years, Erice feels like stepping into another era.

Once a sacred site dedicated to the goddess Venus, this hilltop town is one of Sicily’s most fascinating hidden gems.

Montenegro might just be one of Europe’s most underrated destinations! 🇲🇪

Towering mountains, crystal-clear Adriatic waters, charming medieval towns, and centuries of fascinating history—all packed into one small country.

Behind me is the spectacular Bay of Kotor, home to the historic town of Kotor, where ancient stone streets and impressive medieval walls climb high into the surrounding mountains.

From its stunning coastline to the rugged peaks of Durmitor National Park, Montenegro is a country that deserves a spot on your travel list!

🇮🇹 One of the greatest architectural achievements in history!

Florence Cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiori, also known as the Duomo, is a masterpiece of Renaissance ingenuity. Its massive dome, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi in the 1400s, was built without traditional wooden centering to support it during construction, an engineering feat that still amazes architects today.

More than 600 years later, it remains one of the most breathtaking sights in Italy. And trust me, seeing it in person is something else!
